What friendship looks like...

Firstly a little update - Monty had his final vet exam and was taken off his antibiotics finally. It's confirmed he will have permanent lung damage but it can be managed with little rest stops on walks so we're good.

Luckily he has had his best friend to help him through everything.....it wasn't me, it wasn't the girls.....it was a £3 stuffed Broccoli .....annddd as you can see below the friendship is as strong as ever! They manage to get all over the house together and he still has to be carried on his little walks.

Monty is looking great!! Has his endurance continued to improve?

I know I’ve said this before, but the Monty/Mr B friendship is unlike anything I’ve seen before. Kip likes toys, but there is no 1 toy that he loves more than any other, or carries around.

God bless Mr. Broccoli, if that's what it takes to keep Monty secure and healthy. Although I'm sure you and the girls are a big part of that too, Darren. I'm so happy to hear that he's through with treatment. It's a shame his lungs are impacted but you know what to watch for, and he sure looks great for a little dog that's been through what he has!

I'd make sure you have a box of Broccolis stashed in a safe somewhere! :lurking::lurking::lurking:

Well said, Ann! Yes, we all are so happy Monty and Mr Brocolli can be bonded forever!
Just LOVE those pictures... especially Monty running with Mr B

stay strong!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE these photos - especially of him running with Mr. B. I'm glad he's recovered as well as he has considering the extent of what he went through. And even if Mr. B is #1, you and the girls are # 1.5 !!!!! Let's face it 3 GBP is cheap for that kind of security and well-being!

Thank God the meds are done! Bet you are glad this whole horrible episode is ending.
So good to see him with Mr. B, traipsing through the grass. The fact he has permanent lung damage hurts my heart. But it is what it is.
Mr. B may be his woobie, but you and the girls are his lifeline. Pretty sure he knows that.

Well said Margi, I couldn't agree more!

What a lucky boy Monty is, he really has no idea! So glad he's all done with that vet! Looks like he's back to his old self again. Who knew one little toy could have such an impact on a dog! You really need to contact the company who makes those Mr B's, a few promo shots of Monty and Mr B for them could keep a supply of Mr B's coming forever!

Thanks everyone, It is great to be finished with vets for now as nothing seemed to go right from start to finish. I'm sad that he does have damage but I'll take it as it could have been a lot worse. His endurance got better but it has levelled off now. He just coughs now if uses too much energy and needs a little break for a minute or so on walks....but we can manage that easily.
He's back to his old self now, it's him and Mr B driving me crazy all day again . He jumped from my couch ontop of my coffee table with Mr B this morning which knocked everything onto the floor. Luckily nothing broke and hopefully all the noise will put himm off trying that one again. He gets braver and braver and then tries a new trick. Thankfully he has also done no more jumps over the couch into the wall.

I had contacted the Mr B makers and had a little correspondence but we've not spoken in a while as most of their office staff have been put on the government furlough scheme I think. Luckily I currently have 9 Mr Broccoli's in my cupboard as back up lol.
