What has your Sheltie destroyed?

Jasmine ate my report card when she was a puppy. I was in second grade and we had to have our parents sign our report card and bring it back to school. I had kept forgetting to bring mine back in. My mom is a teacher, so we walked into school and we both had a grin on our face, and my teacher said, "let me guess, your dog at your report card?" and we burst out laughing. Yes- my puppy ate my report card. she didn't eat the whole thing, but she chewed the corners up pretty bad. My mom still has it.
 
My young sheltie went through a shoe phase for a while - ESPECIALLY flip flops. He 'undecorated' the christmas tree and chewed up some of my cross stitched ornaments. He unzipped my berber carpet on one of my stair treads - pull one strand and a big long piece comes out. What fun !

And he pulled all the little rubber ends off the doorstops, until I put tabasco on them. THEN my older sheltie decided that hot sauce was very tasty to he would go around and lick it off the doorstops. And Jr. would pull the stops off again. It was a conspiracy, I swear !

I took him with me to my parents' when my dad came out of the hospital, I had to stay with them for a week to help take care of them. He loved to steal my mom's underwear and run around the house with it. Never chewed it up, and my mom was mortified, but the grandkids thought it was pretty funny.

The weirdest thing he ever destroyed ? A friend's prosthetic leg. Or part of it. He chewed up the silicon cuff that goes around the stump that the leg attaches too. Guess he thought it was nice & stinky. Whoops !

*Sigh* so far this is the damage with Missy:
3 iPhone cables including my FM transmitter
1 clothing iron cord. I replaced it. I paid about $15 for it 6 years ago, so I took it as an unexpected opportunity to upgrade to a nicer one.
1 carpet cleaner cord. It was a $150 carpet cleaner, so I opted to try and replace the cord instead of replace it. Luckily I was successful.
Numerous paper products...

Obviously all the cables and cords she's chewed through were my fault for not watching her closely and not putting the cords up.. especially the carpet cleaner. There are things that she's chewed on that were not necessarily destroyed, such as the leash handle and the handles on my umbrellas. Obviously she has a thing for cord-like objects.

My Callie also has a thing for cords. She's chewed through one from a lighted decoration we had hanging in our front room window, and also through a lamp cord. :eek2: Luckily neither of them hurt her -- but we're definitely keeping an eye on her if she goes behind any furniture where cords might be hiding. She's also destroyed anything we put in her crate to provide padding, so at the moment she's sleeping on hard plastic.

Nothing is quite as bad as my former yellow Lab though. I came home sick one day from work, and took a nap on our couch. I set my watch and wedding rings on the end table and forgot about them. Later that night, my husband asked why Sampson had my watching in his mouth. As you can guess, the wedding rings had vanished, never to be seen again. I'm guessing they're somewhere in my back yard, now that the poop around them has nicely biodegraded. We borrowed a metal detector to try to find them, but with all the sprinkler heads in the yard it was getting too many signals to find them.

Sca ate to laptop power cords when he was little. Since then he is pretty good about only his stuff though he is death to all dog beds. Oh and I forgot he ate 2 sets of sheets off the bed. If I am there he is fine otherwise he is banned from the bedroom.

Spitfire despite his other antics is really pretty good about getting into stuff. He will even drop things like gold when asked. However his stuffed toys (and by extension Sca's) must die and are slowly going away.
 
I am so happy to say that my normally crazy reactive sheltie is not a chewer. :fl As a puppy she did not chew any furniture, walls, cords, toys, etc. Maybe I was just crazy vigilant about keeping any eye on her, but I don't recall destroying anything.

Even now she'll steal shoes and socks, but she doesn't chew them. She'll just run across the room with it in her mouth and shake them for a second.

She does like paper towels. If she gets her mouth on towels, she will rip it into tiny pieces.

Barking, herding and chasing in the house, she is a master at, but definitely flunked chewing and destroying.
 
I might be jinxing myself, but, Beau has not destroyed a single item. EVER. I think I need to give him a belly rub
 
Grrrr....

I just came upstairs and Libby(1 year) was sitting on the couch eating a "Chap Stick" she stole off my night stand. She does the same thing with plastic soda bottle caps I sit on the end table next to my recliner.

Her nick name is "Ferret"
