What is it with puppies and toilet paper?

Buddy my previous Sheltie was a Kleenex and toilet paper shredder for all of his 11 years :eek2: It was the only thing he ever got into. We learned to hide wastepaper baskets and close doors. I think it's in their blood :-o

Now Bailey (8 months) has proven to me that all shelties are shredders :rolleyes2: This is what he did to the box of Kleenex when my daughter was doing homework :eek2:

Oh man, Watson has never once touched the toilet paper, come to think of it- neither have any of my cats. I'm sitting here watching him play bow at Pixie with a squeaker toy in his mouth and I just KNOW he would love to have a canine playmate. I've been showing the boy all of the super cute pictures of everyone's puppies... I will be sure to always skip this thread! :biggrin2:

Baker thinks, after all Watson has been through...he deserves a puppy!

Callie was also a paper shredder but she would take whatever she could lay her teeth on and not wait for permission.
One day, I decided to give her something different/safer to shred- some leaf lettuce. well, she shredded it and ate it and all the shelties since love lettuce...........

My Brodie was a TP, Kleenex shredder. I sort of just thought, well, he enjoys it and it's better than shredding books or anything that is really important.

DH HATED that about Brodie. When Brodie was gone, Nick thought the one upside would be not having to pick up shreds of TP. Enter Annabelle, who picked up in Brodie's place.

I still view it as not really a big deal. Still better than the things a dog could shred. DH still is driven crazy by it.

I don't have the energy to get all bent out of shape about everything, so I choose the bigger things.

My son says that Blithe shreds and eats paper because he has a fiber deficiency in his diet!

Of course that doesn't explain the four TV remotes he's destroyed, and the numerous ball point pens. I think I've put them in a safe place, but then realize it's not safe enough. Oh, and when he was a puppy he did love to chew on the ends of books, so I now have 'skirts' on my bookcases. I'm not taking any chances.

I've not been able to have toilet paper on the holder for years! It sits on the back of the toilet.

Indy, at 6 years, will still pull it off and eat it. Never mind the puppy!

I have a feeling Lacey is going to be just like that.
