What random things does your sheltie bark at?

I was reading the de-barking thread, and I thought this would be a fun topic.

I'll start:

Levi (3 yr old Bi-Blue) - He barks at:

Bags (when they are higher than him, like on a table)
Floral Print
The garbage truck
You (If you change your clothing without him knowing, and then he see's you again)

I'm sure there are a ton more, but that is what I have for now. What does your sheltie bark at?

Lexi: trash bags, cats, anytime anyone comes in or goes out, anytime anyone comes downstairs, if I go upstairs w/o her she howls, UPS, Fedex, mailman, the neighbors in their own back yards, opposums, the wind, the gardener, the broom, vacuum, duster, hose, shovel........maybe I should just list the things she doesn't bark at...

Pyper: NOTHING!! And yes she is a sheltie and yes I do deserve her!!!!:hugs

Angus is a rather quiet fellow - I can't imagine given he lives with 5 chihuahuas who are very vocal

Angus likes to bark at his tail when he wags it and it hits something (i.e the wall, or the cupboards).....and then proceeds to bite it. The only other time he barks is when I am making his dinner.

Olive's not toooo vocal but there are a few things...

- the throw we were given by my aunt with sheltie faces on it (not our taste but she won it as a high point award with her guys years ago...)
- UPS/FedEx
- Tejana and mariachi
- Black dogs and poms

Annie swipes a sock every morning and tosses it -- then barks at it!

Bitsy Boodle barks at her ball when it rolls under furniture. "Out! Out!"

Layla does periodic gratuitous night barking. "Bark!" (wait wait wait) "Bark!" (wait wait wait) "Bark!"

Beckon barks when the coffee brew signal beeps. Startles him every time!

I swear Topper can hear squirrels farting outside, sometimes he barks at nothing. But the biggies are: the doorbell (any doorbell, on the tv, on the radio, IRL), the garbage/recycle truck, squeaky doors, keys jingling.

Macy, our late-sheltie, used to bark when I tore off a piece of aluminum foil. It was hilarious. She's been gone almost 3 yrs and I still expect a bark every time I use foil. :(

Callie barks at lots of stuff too. She barks when we get up out of chairs -- I guess she figures she herded us where she wants us and doesn't want us moving. She also barks at the doorbell, the telephone ringing, the microwave or oven signals, and our neighbor when he pulls in in his semi truck.

Amazingly enough things like fireworks and sirens don't seem to bother her at all.

Beau is not very vocal, he knows my upstairs neighbor footsteps and my downstairs neighbors footstep. He will bark if they bring someone in and or if the maintenance people are in the building. But, all I have to do is tell him,"Beau they don't want to come in here," and he stops barking. no lie, I was on the phone with my property manager when he started to bark at the maintenance person and when I told him they didn't want us he stopped. The property manager couldn't believe it.

Sally is barking as I type...she is standing on her hind legs with her front legs on the back of the sofa looking out the bay window barking and yodeling with her snout up in the air !! The neighbors across the lane have some sort of truck parked in the driveway AND THE GARAGE DOOR IS UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need to be told about a lot of stuff here at Sally's house. Anything that moves within a 2 mile radius of the house NEEDS barked at of course and yes that does include squirrel farting. Pumpkin the cat was just now eyeing up DH's snack and good ole Sally went CRAZY and saved the snack from Pumpkin. She is now shamelessly begging for a bite ...she does quiet down when we thank her for the update and that is a good thing. She goes ape when I run the coffe grinder, but doesn't really bark at much else, maybe the oven timer when it goes off and when someone knocks on the door...:eek2:

I ask Olive is she thinks it (barking) is appropriate. :biggrin2:
