Hey all! New here... I can't find information on the internet that is specific as I'd like it to be, so I figured I'd try asking here!
I have a tri coloured sheltie and he recently sired a litter of 5 pups. The mother has been bred a few times and we know she is a white factored sable. She's had a colour headed white (CHW) pup in a previous litter, and this litter she had 3 sables, one sable CHW and one tri CHW.
As far as I understand, a white factored dog must be bred to another white factored (or possibly a merle?) to get CHW pups. I didn't think my dog, the tri, was white factored at all, but how do I tell? He doesn't have any white on his stifle like the mother does, nor does he have any white that seems out of place anywhere else on him. Is there any other markings or signs that could mean he is white factored? Anything else I should look for?
Here's a pic of him from the other year if that helps - Turner
Any ideas on this would be great! Thanks!
