Will my sheltie like agility?

As of today (like 10 min ago LOL) Fillion has two jumps, a set of 6 weave poles and a 6' play tunnel. It took him 5 tries to "get" the tunnel, and two seconds for "jump". Fillion really seems to like it. Koko looks at me like I got lobsters crawling out of my ears when I even suggest he jump!

The two jumps cost about $30 getting everything from Home Deficit, and the weave poles $20. Play tunnel 15.00 from Wally World. Its just for backyard fun at this point. I sure wish I had a bigger back yard. Fillion is not jumping or running the tunnel by himself though. He seems to think I have to start the game and be out there with him. Another example of Fillion's Rules LOL. Will see how long it takes him to get the weaving thing. DH just put them together this morning.

Haha that's too funny. I wonder how my pup will react. It seems like a tricky thing to teach. The jumps he's going to conquer really quickly, but weaving is another story. He weaves through my legs (he'll do it about 5 times then start to get frustrated and jump up at my face) so maybe that'll help. Is Koko slightly heavier or is he just lazy? I'd love to see a picture of them if you wouldn't mind. And what your jumps look like. My boyfriend said that we can make them easily with PVC pipes and such. But, he doesn't really know anything about agility at all.

Your boyfriend is right, if MY DH could make the pole set in about 30 min. anybody can :wink2:

This is Fillion's album, starting with pics of the equipment now in the backyard. There's a zillion pics of my baby LOL. Just keep clicking to the right :)

We used this guy's plan for the poles, although we only made 6 for now:

Koko isn't heavy or lazy, he just doesn't get excited by it, I guess. Here is his album:

First off, your boys are so handsome! I love their coats. I'm hoping Asher's will grow out that great soon enough, but I know that blue merles take quite a bit longer sometimes. Thank you also for all those pictures! I went through all of them. Couldn't help myself haha I especially love it when people have a progression of age from young to adult for their shelties so you can see the markings change and watch them grow.

Those links are incredibly helpful. I will most certainly use those when building the rest of my backyard practice set. I don't have a huge backyard but can definitely set up a small course. Your agility course looks pretty great for a backyard hobby!
