Woody update - talk about handsome!

Thanks everyone! It was so so hard to leave him, but he was very well cared for while I was away. Woody's such a delight - so well behaved and calm - there's barely a naughty streak in him! He isn't scared of anything or anyone, he doesn't bark (except if I'm trying to sweep the floor! He HATES...

Woody update - talk about handsome!

So, just over a month ago I had to leave my beloved 5 month old Woody behind while my partner cared for him and venture to Greece for work. I returned home from the Mediterranean yesterday to discover that my little pup had matured into quite the handsome boy! I've attached some pics of Woody...

Is Blu-tack suitable for ear tipping?

Hi everyone, While Woody's ear placement is great, his ears are a little light and have a tendency to fly up. To combat this we've been using just a tiny amount of blu-tack (the adhesive you use to stick posters to walls etc - btw its totally benign as well if accidentally ingested) on the tip...

    MacGreggor Gets Car Sick

Woody had a car sickness relapse recently - so on the next trip, we gave him a pig's ear ( so much more exciting than any other treats) and it worked amazingly. He gnawed on it all the way to my partners house and back without even realising he was in the car!

    Woody 10 - 13 weeks photo updates!

Thanks, everyone! Woody is DEFINITELY part mountain goat!!! We have a smallish palm tree in our backyard and the other day i looked out the window to see woody sitting directly ON TOP OF IT, chewing on the palm leaves! It's his new favourite spot! I have no idea HOW he gets up there, or how he...

    MacGreggor Gets Car Sick

We've been having the exact same problem with our new little pup Woody who is now 13 weeks. We solved it by not feeding him at least 4 hours prior to car travel. Worked a treat. Another thing we did is - because car sickness is also related to anxiety - we tried to reduce car-related anxiety by...

    Woody 10 - 13 weeks photo updates!

Hi everyone, just some updates on Woody - i've uploaded to photobucket some pics from the last few weeks (woody is 13 weeks now). There are some pretty hilarious shots in there - some of woody attempting to sit on my dad's head while he's watching tv, one from when he and my partner's border...

    NEW PUPPY!!!!! Stacks of photos!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments about Woody! We're both doing great. Woody is ridiculously well trained and well behaved - he's also been bell trained since 10 weeks - he has a bell by the backdoor so he can let us know when he needs to go out- which is so handy - he's been 100%...

    NEW PUPPY!!!!! Stacks of photos!

Well, it has FINALLY happened! We have our new little man! His name's Woody. We got him last saturday and on the same day I taught him to sit, lie down and roll over! He comes when called, is very gentle and well behaved and is under my feet constantly, following me around. He 'goes to the...

Puppy socialisation from 8 weeks on

Hi everyone, It's just wonderful to report that I'll be getting a new pup on Saturday. One of my most pertinent aims in raising my new pup and family member is socialisation during the critical 8 - 12 week window. I plan on having a lot of friends and family over, for safe and low key...

Puppy structure question for sheltie show-ers and breeders

Thanks, lightplum and tofu pup. I go to meet pups next friday, where I will be able to see them and get a feel for them, and hopefully make my decision. Is there some sort of online visual resource for detecting correct structure in pups? (I know of the Clan Duncan page, (so good!) however as...

Puppy structure question for sheltie show-ers and breeders

photos! Thank you so much, Tofu Pup! Al that information was incredibly valuable. Just got some photos at 6 weeks of the two chunky boys, they're not great pics, and only of fronts 9and obviously ears need doing) but I was just wondering what you coud discern from them...

Puppy structure question for sheltie show-ers and breeders

Hi, I'm very happy to announce that after about 8 months of searching, I've finally found a brilliant, enthusiastic breeder with lines that I like, and who also has pups available (they're currently 6 weeks). Here in Australia it's very difficult to find American/Canadian lines (there are only...
