Dandie is Lyme Positive - Thoughts on the New Lyme Vaccine

Just curious, is the 'Snap Test' for Lyme's disease a blood test? I've always given my two the Lyme's disease vaccine. We have TONS of ticks at home. No ill side effects that I've seen... I think I'd like to get them tested regardless though to make sure its' working.

    Narrow Esophagus And Agility

Hmmm I'm going to continue following this one because my guy regurgitates water on a daily basis... and occasionally food. He's been de-barked. Wondering if that caused any damage.

    Regurgitation

Fyi FYI - our spay and neuter clinic here won't neuter a dog that has been de-barked because they are high risk when being anesthetized. Just a tid bit of information I discovered today ;-)

Panting Hi Guys, The panting at one time concerned me as well... and still does. I think it's strange. I've had him since November and he's panted constantly since the day I brought him home. His breeder also said he's a 'panter' and she has had other's in her lines that are 'panters'...

    Regurgitation

Just spoke to his breeder. Since it's only happening at night with a full tummy, after he's been running around we're going to try to keep him crated (he's crate trained) for 30mins after he eats for the next two nights and see what happens. I'll update with the results incase anyone else is...

    Regurgitation

That's where I'm unsure... I've been googling the problem, which I know a 'parent' should never do, and this is what I read: (he also had his regular yearly appointment in Feb, I mentioned the panting, which he was obviously not doing at the time and he said his lungs sounded clear and he...

    Regurgitation

Hi Everyone, I just read the debarking thread... so I'm hesitant to post this, but I need your opinions. I imagine this thread will get locked eventually but here goes nothing. Hopefully you can all give me your respectful opinions and not beat me up ;-) My 1.5yr old male is debarked. Not...

    Lymes Disease Vaccine really needed?

Ticks Hi there! I live in Ottawa,ON and I do give my Riley his Lyme disease vaccination. This time of year, we find them on him frequently. (Head/shoulders). You could try not getting it and checking frequently to see if your pup gets any. If he/she does, you know to get it next year...

Advice needed on some minor behavior issues

And yep, I cover his crate at night. He's AWESOME going to bed. Doesn't make a peep until around the time my alarm goes off (6:15) but it seems once he's up he's up.... and there's no shhhhing him :-)

Advice needed on some minor behavior issues

Exciting times at 6am To me, it really does just seem like over-excitment. The reason I usher him outside is because I'm in the bathroom getting ready for work (before our walk) and I don't want him to wake up everyone else. Tomorrow I'll try feeding him immediately. Putting him outside in...

Hi All, Just some advice needed on my converted show sheltie ;-) Background for those who don't know. Show pup, just came from breeder was kenneled (not raised in home). 14 months old. Not yet neutered. Super sweet boy who LOVES to be pet. Some minor issues we're having - He sleeps in...

Judging Schedule, what does it all mean...

Hey quick question for the experts! When looking at a judging schedule for an upcoming show what do all the numbers mean?! For example - 14 Shetland Sheepdog 4-6-1-3 I'm assuming 14 is the number of dogs in the category, but what about the ones that follow the breed name? While we're...

    Officially a 'Pet' Sheltie

I'll have to take some pictures :-) Oh, and figure out how to post them on here. Right now I only have Iphone pics. The breeder is not keeping him because there is no one to breed him to. Lines would be too close. Also, they only keep a small number of dogs. I'm just happy I'm his new mom!
