    Oh Furgus McGurk...

Furgus you silly little boy, you were the last living connection to my mother and Ken. May you rest-in-peace my sweet little boy. The hearts of many have been saddened this day.

    tie-dyed boy and the screw

Oh yes, I then caught him with a pin cushion he had to work really hard to get. They certainly are teaching us, well, Ollie is teaching us nothing is safe. His brother must be coaching him... I was hoping that by not working for their first 7 months of life that we could circumvent some of the...

    tie-dyed boy and the screw

Good News Ollie is home. He passed the screw this morning. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They saved the screw. It's an expensive one at $149:yes:

    Sadie is suddenly paralyzed

Reading all the posts you have created stirs a great deal of emotion. I'm relieved that the outcome has been as good as it has been. Shelties seem to be so empathetic to their human partners it only seem reasonable that you must feel similar feelings in return. This must have been so trying for...

    Hello from Oregon

Hi from Seattle. Pictures are a good thing, and Oregon is a big place, so you need to give us an idea where you are so if we're driving by and need to let the kids out of the car we can find you ;-)

Flip Flop! Were they in pieces or whole.... Thanks, I think there will be a happy ending to this.... I really hope things don't get screwed up.

Me too! It is a bit comforting having our vets so close, and so good. We left a squeeky toy, a dirty sock of mine (he frequently will grab one out of the dirty clothes to sleep with) and a chewy stick tonight when we went to see him. His brother is a bit confused and out-of-sorts. Goes to...

    tie-dyed boy and the screw

Well, I saw Ollie and his brother wrestling over something small. It then seemed as though whatever it was went down his throat. His breakfast didn't stay down this morning, so I felt a trip down the street to out vet (really nice to have a really great one 2 minutes away). The picture tells the...

    Tie-dyed update

Lark looks like a sweety. You mention her spots now growing in darker; with Ollie we have been waiting for the same but his spots are red... Really stops dog people because you really don't see dogs that have coats of such color.

No, but can you post one?

    Tie-dyed update

Oh, he is sable Merle... I know he is Sable Merle, and that is what I tell folks who ask, or insist he's a Red Merle (Assie owners). He is quite striking and we will frequently have people pondering what he is, breed, color.... I just want others to see him who wonder about coloration, and...

    Tie-dyed update

Ollie is now a little over 7 months. His coat is taking on adult qualities. His mane is much more apparent now. His color has become a bit darker now. Still interested in your thouhgts. We get asked what color he is and I don't think blue merle fits very well.

    Unusual look?

You have a pretty girl, and yes, she might not be what you might find in the show ring, but diversity makes life worth living. I have 2 boys who both have uncharacteristic qualities. Both are sable merle and both looked alike as young puppies. Baagi looks like a Sable now at 6 months, but lacks...

    Housebreaking

Dr Shelli makes excellent points in her response. We have 2, 6 mo brothers. Some people will tell you it is a real no-no to try and raise 2 siblings at the same time. There are, and will be issues. The one-on-one time is critical in my eyes. If one doesn't want to go down the stairs the other...

    Bathroom Issue

We got bells and hung them from cords on the important doors. It took about 3 weeks of our ringing the bells when we were opening the doors for our 2, 6 month boys to learn to ring the bells to let us know they needed out to do the bathroom thing. It works really well for us. We learned to do...
