    Chandler is hanging in there....But

Sorry to hear that Chandler isn't doing too well. I hope he's doing better today.

    If I were to....

Hmm, I think you'll know what I will say. It all depends on Megan and the other new dog. I agree with Lukabear in that you have to look at the temperament as oppose to the breed of the dog. Penny was a shepherd mix who grew up to be 95 pounds. She got along great with Rusty when we got him...

I've had it with off leash dogs !!!!

I would follow up with management about why nothing is being done about the problem dogs and owers. Explain that you have been there since the complex was built and how this is starting to be a big problem.

    Chandler's B12 level Blood tests

I hope the B12 shot will do the trick and get him eating again! I was going to suggest the freeze dried liver as Rusty loves that, but you've already tried that.

Should I do an MRI or not.....

I am sure you probably tried all these, but this is what we did. You might also be limited to his diet due to his pancreatis. Most worked for a short time before we moved on to he next option. We started with adding warm water to the kibble. Then we started warming it up. We also added...

Should I do an MRI or not.....

Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear about Chandler and him not eating. I had the same problem with Rusty for the past year or so. He was recently diagnosed this past spring with bladder cancer that we found through an ultra sound. We decided not to operate due to his age (he just turned 14) but...

    Off Leash

I voted yes as I do let mine off-leash in parks where I feel it is safe to do so. Rusty tends to stick by my side and doesn't wander too far off.

    Whats With Golden-Doodles!

Slightly OT, but in my obedience class, there is a Shepadoodle (german shephard/standard poodle cross). I didn't even know they existed. The owners commented that there are only two breeders here for them. I'm not sure about this cross as the dog is female and I think 2 years old. It's a bit...

Please help... Not sure what to do now.

I don't have experience with torn tendons, but I had a shephard cross that blew both her back knee ligaments and both times we had surgery to repair them. She was good as new. I hope you're able to figure out what's wrong with Bo.

    Refusing to eat

I hope it's nothing serious and that your vet can figure out what's wrong. I always worry when my pups stop eating as it's never a good sign from my personal experience.

    If you didn't own shelties...

She sure is. :uhoh: Sophie is 8 months and is fully in her adolescence phase. You're right though, she worships the ground I walk on, and anybody elses too for that matter. lol

    If you didn't own shelties...

Golden Retriever, but now that I have one.... lol. They are a lot more work in the puppy phase than my shephard cross and sheltie were.

    Hello, Rusty here.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes! Yes, I downgraded to a golden. lol Actually, our first dog was a shephard cross named Penny and when we lost her to cancer, it took a long time for us to get another dog. We always had one big dog and one smaller, so we went with a golden. Goldens...

    Hello, Rusty here.

Hi everyone, I recently found this site. My husband and I are currently owned by our 2 dogs. Rusty (sheltie) is almost 14 years young and our new addition Sophie (golden retriever) is 6 months. I wish I had found this site 13 years ago! Love seeing everyone's shelties. We will always...
