3yr. old in HIGH KILL SHELTER IN CA.

Any news on Whiskey? They seem to have removed the post on the Southland sheltie rescue FB group.

I heard back from my rescue contact. I just want to say, she is really busy, but always takes time to answer my pesky questions.

Whiskey is still on their FB page. You just have to click on everyone under their picture bar and he comes right up. No word from his family.

By my calculations, he should be getting out on Monday. I wish I had time to run out to see him, but this is my only day off and I need to give up my car to my mechanic for the day. Sorry.

I'm sure the rescue is taking good care of him. They have a volunteer who lives within 5 minutes of the shelter.:smile2:

You've done a wonderful job Dawn! It's heartbreaking to see the little guy in there, in all that heat too with his coat like that. Lucy was days away from being PTS, I can't understand why the shelter does many of the things they do.

The weather seems to have broken here finally after those storms, perhaps it's a bit cooler there now too.

I just checked the website for Dogs Day Inn and the two shelties that were there seem to be gone now. I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming SSR was able to pull them. They don't show up under the Devore shelter either. I'm taking this as good news.

I'm pretty sure that is good news. They would have put in their 4 days for the owners to find them. The rescue said they were on top of those 2 as well as Whiskey.

I'm always "visiting" SSR's website and assuming they picked them up...am anxious to see them up for adoption with an "adopted" title on them quickly. Dogs Day Inn never did post pictures. Some day, I hope to help them foster, but can't take that step right now.

I'm with you. Can't wait to see those two and Whiskey ready for adoption! They did have a discription on the Dog's Day Inn site. I think one was discribed as sable and the other one black. I wish they'd post something on the SSR FB page.

Any word on Whiskey's getting out of that high-kill shelter? Isn't he scheduled to get out tomorrow, Monday? (praying that he will)

I've been checking the site regularly, as well as SSR's site for updated sheltie rescues. I thought he was scheduled to be released today, but maybe it was through the 18th and not "on" the 18th. I'm sure SSR is standing by with open arms ;-). I'd just like to see him outta there!
