Or almost...Blaze weighed 12.4lbs last week.:lol:

One last thing...as Blaze has a sensitive tummy these days would you still say they are a good choice?

For a sensitive tummy I'd recommend Wild Prairie or Grasslands, both of which contain ingredients that are usually pretty easy to digest. Pacifica should probably be ok too, it depends on the dog.

Ranchlands might be too rich. My guys too longer to get used to Ranchlands when I introduced it into their rotation.
 
Raw chicken necks are the best thing I have found for tartar control. My oldest, Athena is 7 years old and all of her teeth are pearly white with no tartar on any of her teeth since starting raw.

I agree, why not rotate between a few of the flavors?

I've been rotating the 4 regional varieties with a lot of success. Because they're getting a wider variety of protein sources they're not as prone to stomach upset, since they get a bit of everything in their current diet.
 
I recommend deer antlers and Tropliclean water additive for tartar control.

The additive loosens the tartar, and the deer antlers grind it away. Some dogs don't go for the antlers right away.....you can boil them in salt free broth to get them going.

That being said, I'm curious about other people's suggestions. Bacca has totally lost interesting in all chewing and playing behaviours, so his teeth are a mess. I've considered going back to raw, but its just so MESSY!
 
fondofshelties - Usually 1 half piece a day, give or take. Some days I'll skip if I gave her a lot of training treats.

BarbV - I'd recommend the ones I suggested earlier, they're soft enough that even my dog (who never liked antlers or even full pig ears) goes after them, but still tough enough to clean the teeth. Especially the pig ear slivers.

By the way, has anyone else noticed that Champion changed their Acana Regional formulas in June? And I don't think it was for the better... given the recent takeover by Bedford I'm nervous.
