And the puppy search is on!

I spent time in Melbourne- getting my master's at FIT- loved the area but couldn't find a job :(

I always had boy dogs until my first sheltie Callie- she's my rescue sweetheart.
got the Cranpup - my first boy sheltie- at that time, that made 2 boys and 1 girl. my other boy was an older mixed breed. he would play with the pup but Callie cannot be bothered with playing so when I lost the other boy- that required a younger sheltie playmate. so Dixie, Cran's sister, came to stay with us (she was 10 months) instead of being a sheltie showgirl:winkgrin:

so Dixie is the biggest cuddlebug & snuggler ever so gender is only part of the picture. personality is the real key :yes:

find the pup that gets along with your current dogs and everything will work out.
 
Its funny Six was always the type of puppy from about 5 weeks on that was mr independent let me go dont hold me..etc...now he LOVES to be held and cuddled...he will see me and take a running leap so I can pick him up and he throws himself into me and wraps his head and neck behind mine...honestly there is nothing better than it and can totally erase a crappy day..but who would have thought as a puppy he'd be that way?! He didnt settle down and lived up to his reputation as the Damien puppy until he was 8 months old!

But overall ive found my boys are more willing to please and go out of their way to make you happy...

Sca can be cuddly for a while but not to long. His over the back of my neck trick might sound cute but a 30lb Sheltie neck warmer is not that great in Alabama summer :eek2: Of course I hope he continues in winter :wink2:

Oh gosh Linda,Trapp does this to.He cannot get close enough,and will wiggle till his head is so tight around my neck.He just wiggles an wiggles.Then he will give all kinds of kisses.
Jasper not so much like this.He is more the quiet lap cuddler.He has really changed since his 1st birthday.
 
How exciting that you are going to add another puppy to your clan! Good luck on your search. I haven't noticed that snuggly/cuddly is a gender deal either. All of mine are affectionate in different ways; but the real cuddlers are Newton and Zoey.
 
We're going to go see a litter of 7 very active sable puppies on Monday! The breeder has sent us pictures, and a few videos. Of course, they're cute (their sheltie babies, how could they not be cute?)

So excited!!

Some are spoken for (I don't know which yet) but I am falling for the little male on the left. What a cute teddybear face! :biggrin2:
