Angry......:'/

Hope Precious is feeling better! Having the runs is no fun! Keep us posted on how she's doing!

I second what Ashley said about nobody being able to take care of our dogs the way we would, no matter how detailed our instructions are! I can't tell you the number of times I've had to nag my husband to do this and that and repeat myself over and over on how to do things (who washes diarrhea bums without using shampoo??). :rolleyes2: Hope you can work things out with your brother!

It's late so, sorry if my response doesn't isn't as clear. 1) Not sure what you mean by feeding probiotics exactly so I sure no, havent fed that. 2) Yoghurt doesn't do anything for us either 3) Fed her a little pumpkin today but so far, still no poop so I can't say.

You can give them probiotics from a pill....it's what's in yogurt. The culture stuff? Anyhow, if yogurt doesn't work, I doubt probiotics will. If your vet hasn't found any cause for her upset tummy every so often, I'd suggest pumpkin (not a lot) everyday and see if that helps her reoccuring upset tummy.

1. Old enough, older brother, older than me. Old.

I totally understand. I know you weren't angry, as much as you were disappointed that he didn't do what he knows better to do.

Hope Precious is doing better. Also, a reminder, if you are doing the chicken and rice, she may not poop for a few days. It always freaks me out that they don't and I have to remind myself. lol.

Grain Free

Please consider a grain free diet for Precious. Ask your vet if grain intolerance could be her issue in digestion. It couldn't hurt to try it. Regards, Will

Thank you for that note! I too wondered why she wasn't pooping that much anymore haha then had to remind myself too.

As an update, she IS fine, no more poop explosions but am waiting for bigger POOP. She did go yesterday, but small measly strings because she barely ate anything. She's eating more and more each day and she has lots of usual-self energy so things are pointing all towards good signs that she's feeling better!

Definitely considering trying this, thank you Will. We do an occasional rotational diet anyways so will see what changes with a new kibble, doesn't hurt. Not yet though since she's still getting over the diarrhea stuff but will see if changing her food later on will change anything overall. Thanks for the tip.

Any update?

I've been kind of sporadic on the forum lately.

I've been thinking about this. Sudden sickness does not normally speak to food allergies or food sensitivities, unless you've recently introduced something new into the diet - even a new treat.

Could Precious have gotten into anything while lazy brother was on his Iphone???? If so, it could take a few days to clear from her system.

Are there any other symptoms....face, mouth or glands swollen or droopy? I know you said that she was not lethargic, but that does not surprise me. Shelties have amazing constitutions....they can be truly sick but you don't know it.....they just keep going and going until they drop.

As was said before, and I'm sure you've addressed this by now, if more than a couple of days, then a trip to the vet is in order.

Hope all is well.

Hi Barb. Funny you asked when you did.. Things had looked good for a while. Since my last post, barely any poop then regular stool ish whens she worked her way up and ate more. Come this morning, diarrhea again to the max. I have work later today, so definitely not comfortable of leaving her with a fiery butt, not knowing how her next stool might be. I might put her baby gate back up so I can have her in the kitchen instead of the carpet..... 8:30 bum wash required, not the way I imagined myself to wake up. Smell of coffee please, not poop hahaha. I had a vet pone call about her one year wellness and that her vaccine appointments were soon. I'll start up a new thread to get all the info I can from everyone before calling back and booking anything. I will indeed bring up the diarreha since she has her physical and stool check, etc at the same time... They always just tell me its nothing but mmm I guess I'll see when I go within the next week.

Michelle...do you know if she's loosing weight?

I don't think she has weighed her because her other thread guessed her weight at 10 or 11 or 12lbs. With a puppy you are talking about big weight differences.

Michelle, I would start today and get a weight on her. Hopefully you have a scale that measure at least to the 1/2 pound. Weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding Precious so you get a round about weight.

If she were my pup.....I would have taken her to the vet already. This is far from normal.

Really?? Hmm... They're not open Sunday but I will call tonight before they close for an appointment on monday. Hopefully people can have some feedback on that other thread by then. Others didn't seem too worried about it, and I didn't either since I Didn't know what these were symptoms of.. Didn't think to get her weigh recently either.. =/ Worried NOW... =/

Are you going to be home with her tomorrow?

I know for sure she hasn't GAINED any, she looks the same.

Ah, I Was right. I just weighed her now, the scale's not to the decimal, but I'm reading she's 10 lbs. Last time I took her in November 5 for her last heartworm med pick up, she was 5 kg. So about the same??
