Attached Pads

Just checked both boys....no joining there.

But I expect it would be a fairly normal thing...something like some humans having longer ear lobes, and mostly likely genetic.

I just finished giving Phebe a bath and groom, so I checked her feet. She has the joined pads on her rear feet, too. I've probably trimmed the hair on her feet 10 times and never noticed this before.

Thank you!

Once again, Sheltie Forums to the rescue. The original post is going on 6 years, but boy I feel better tonight. My pup, Bacchus, has this connection on all 4 paws -- just like the pic. My Dutch does not have this attachment. I felt it just now on Bach and worried it would have to be separated. I always check in the fur of Dutch's paws so I'm familiar with his webbing ... not like this connection. Thanks to all who shared previously!

Original Post is from 2008 - but if anyone else is curious - I to have a "mutant" sheltie with the attached pad - very odd looking - but mine is mutant in more ways than one - so i am just taking it in stride - cause he is just plain weird

Never even checked, but now you mention it... Just checked puppy though and they're normal

So glad that someone posted about this even though it was a while ago! Just realised my pups paws are all connected last week whilst grooming her feet and thought it was pretty peculiar! Good to know it is a thing with at least a few other shelties out there!
