Bath time

While this is Sophie's least favorite thing to do, at least she sits still for me. I just had to show this hysterical photo of my girl. She's got this big old head with huge ears and scrawny little legs. Enjoy!

I know- I'm a bad Mommy- I haven't done the ll grooming thing yet, and I was putting off giving CeCe a bath until it got above zero outside. Well, she came inside the other night and sat down on the top of the chair with her rear end in my face(Very cat-sheltie like) and I realized (smelled) she had a kling-on that needed removed. It was soft and didn't want to come off the easy way, so I put her bottom first in the kitchen sink and proceeded to wash in off. I could tell she was not happy with that method, like she still wasn't clean enough. So I looked at her and asked her if she wanted a real bath. We went to the bath tub, and she sat right there, while I got her bath ready, she got in, no complaints and I gave her a thorough scrub down. No complaints, I dried her off with a towel and let her loose. She then looked up at me as if to say "Thanks mom, that feels much better. Generally, Cece is not exactly up for a bath, not her favorite thing to do, but she must have felt like she needed one that night. Crazy Sheltie!!

Ha, granite, that song was soo funny! I loved it. She was sitting very patiently and the look in her eyes was telling me to hurry up or I'd be sorry because she'd shake herself and get everything wet. She makes me smile and your song made me laugh.
A round of applause to you!!

Another timely post!

Indy came in today with some rather nasty smell on his derriere!

I was feeling so bad for the boys because of their surgery this week and having to limit their play, that I bought them "special bones" yesterday.

Well, we are now seeing the results of the "special bones". Bacca is off his food and Indy has diarrahea! He smells horrible. I tried to brush the worst of it of him today but he won't sit still long enough for me to get all the nasties out.

I would love to bathe him but can't because of his surgery! :uhoh: What to do! I had not done the poop chute grooming thing because it wasn't a requirement before. I share everyone's pain now!

I'm sure Indy is going though some kind of separation anxiety because I keep pushing him away from me! Whew! Stinky!

Barb,
poop chute - I laughed so hard, OMG!....but anyway - baby wipes are so great for those smelly behinds.

Every time Alfie gets something new - a bone or bully stick or a rawhide he has some stomach problems - baby wipes save me from some back pain that I would have after bathing him.

This thread is way too fun!!! Thanks for the picture Esmiles04, very cute. And Granite, your song was such a thrill. Poor BarbV!! Yeah, once you've had diarrhea on a long-haired sheltie, you won't forget the poop chute. Thanks for all the laughs you guys!

I found these fantastic herbal smelling baby wipes that I just love for backstage cleaning purposes. Can't remember the name but I'll check it out and report back if anyone wants it. Their back ends smell soooo much better after I've used them.

Pixie was doing the poop scoot in the yard one day this week and came in with little bits of ice hanging from her bum and her tail. She was very confused. :confused2:

Well, thank goodness for dry shampoo. No baby wipes in the house

I managed to wrestle Indy to the ground last night and dry shampooed the worst of it away. Then I threw a leg over his body to try to hold him down to create a poop chute! He's very modest, though....silly pup get sticking his tail tight to his bum and wouldn't move it for anything.....everytime I moved it aside, he would tuck it right back.

So instead of the poop chute that Chris creates - the perfect || - I created something that looks more like this:

:o

And I just let him back inside a few minutes ago and he's done it again! And still forgot to buy babywipes. I do have my Oil of Olay face wipes - maybe I'll try those....at least he'll have a wrinkle-free bum!
