Callie- disoriented

Sending hugs to all of you. I hope there is some slow improvement,and she is well enough to come next month. We will make sure,she is extra special taken care of for comfort.

Earnhardt will gladly give up his spot by the tree,for her. Saying prayers ((hugs))
 
thanks - I do hope that Callie will be much improved by the time of the gathering. I know that she will love the tree- she liked it lots the last time:yes:
 
so Callie has had three acupuncture treatments, loads of supplements and special food- she is definitely getting around better. Her mobility can still be improved since she still has problems with her back legs but there is definitely progress:yes:
 
I've been trying to read bits and pieces here.....I dealt w/ doggie dementia w/ my sweet angel Copper Bear, now w/ his wings at the Bridge.....

Copper battled Canine Cushing's Disease, and along w/ it in later stages came mild dementia. There's a wonderful supplement called Senilife. I researched it thoroughly, and a few of our vets recommended it highly and have had positive results w/ several patients. We chose not to use it, as Copper's issues were mild, but he later ended up w/ seizures and a brain tumor, separate from the Cushing's pituitary tumor....I have a friend who currently uses Senilife and is pleased w/ it for her older dog -- not a Sheltie. Have you looked into a possible tumor w/in the ear canal, etc as a possible cause? I am sure you've explored so many avenues....

have not looked into tumors yet- her ears are not bad at the moment. they were checked out on Friday when we had blood drawn to check kidney/liver and thyroid. the holistic vet wanted to see those numbers since Callie has lost about 2 lbs in the 4 weeks that we have been getting the acupuncture treatments. she is concerned that something else is going on but not sure what. bad news/good news- Callie's results were all normal so no easy fixes there. so we're adding to Callie's food - hoping to put a few more lbs on her.
we are on vacation at the moment and she did have an accident early yesterday morning but has been good since.
so she's hanging in there:yes:

we will have to check into that supplement- thanks for mentioning it
 
I am so glad to hear that Callie's test all came back w/ nothing ominous. :) Hang tough and send her some kisses for us!!!
