Oh mmMMAAANNN what a ride!

A little backstory. As far as the foster parents could tell us or guess Claire was locked into being a "barn breeder" and when she got to her max or was having problems with her puppies they dumped her. And her mate. And her puppies. In a very rural area of Michigan.
The animal control trapped her mate but couldn't get to her or puppies. Weeks later they did find her and captured her but coyotes got her puppies and bit her up pretty bad when she was trying to save them it seems.
She has had very little interaction with decent humans it seems. The barn breeder people (or somebody) were abusive given her behavior and body language. It's just heart breaking how subdued and withdrawn she is. Thank goodness for Robin of Michigan Sheltie Rescue and John and Barb Parrot who were her fostor Mom and Dad! They have done a flat out remarkable job and hats off and a salute to all three.
She has been spayed and shots all up to date. She apparently had an infected milk duct which had to be removed as well. Poor thing had all kinds of stuff going on. Her and my wife almost instantly bonded! I just couldn't believe how those two have taken off.
But thanks all you guys for being a cheering section. We weren't thinking about a dog for another long time coming. Funny how they always seem to find the people who need them the most.
