Dear little Tully not good

Tully has taken a turn for the worse, don't think she is going to make it.

She was just playing with Kismet on Friday afternoon, then I left the barrier to the laundry slightly ajar and she managed to get through the gap, fall down the stairs and get into the kitty litter tray 0 which is where I found her, chomping on cat poop.

Tully hasn't had a drink since then, and while I took her to the ER they didn't put her on a drip. But she's been getting weaker and I couldn't find a vet to look at her. Finally found one this afternoon and he ran bloods and it looks like kidney failure.

Putting her on a drip to see if she rallies, given her amazing ability to push through, but it doesn't look promising.

My beautiful sweet girl, they just break your heart.
 
I often feel like posting that Tully is on the way out is like a lucky charm.

Tully has been in ER since last night. And her kidney figures are going down! Still not out of the woods, probably has stage 4 KD but they are guardedly optimistic that they've been able to reverse the kidney failure and she might have some more healthy months left.

I have to admit this is all taking its toll on me, but how can I not give her a chance when she's such a fighter.

She'll be here for a few more days as they have to give her drp very slowly.

Atm im sitting on floor with her and the ratbags - only way to get her eating was to have the orher two hovering over her bowl. Niw to go home and cook up things to entice her to eat.

And FYI, the medicine specialist said the pink, moist gums test is not that accurate and doesn't work for dogs with kidney disease has they salivate when they are dehydrated. So now I know, go with my gut rather than gums.
