You know, before I got Ember I thought I would trim my sheltie's whiskers, but now that Ember's home, I've decided I like her whiskers!

Sheltie au Natural !!

I think if God put them there they will remain there. I like the whiskers. I don't even notice them.

Good or Bad?

The confusing thing on this issue is if it's a bad thing to do, it shouldn't be done regardless of showing or not. Am I right aboout this?

My girl almost lost hers one morning. She uses them to wake me up, by taking her head back and forth along my nose. It tickles! Needless to say its an annoying way to wake up.

No don't think it's really that bad for them, otherwise it wouldn't be done at shows. Dogs do use their whiskers but having them cut off probably won't affect them as much as if you cut off a cat's whiskers.

Unless you're planning on showing your pup, I wouldn't bother. It's done purely for looks.

I love Sadie and Milo's whiskers and since neither of them are show dogs, wouldn't dream of trimming them off. I think they look cute and besides that, I'm lazy. I'd rather not trim something that doesn't need it.

Nah, Duncan's not showing, so I'll leave them alone. I think they're cute. I have a beard, Duncan has whiskers.
