There was some research last year that found dogs take up a stance to poop in relation to the earth's magnetic axis. So, you never know, maybe they spin according to the magnetic pull. Which I guess means dogs in the Southern and Northern hemispheres should rotate in different directions. Deska spins to the left, so counter-clockwise - do they spin clockwise on the other side of the world...
 
Cleo is not much of a spinner. I am not sure why either. She use to spin a lot more when she was a puppy. No it is the rare occasion that she spins.
