Doggy Door

We have one! It goes out a window, onto a small "doggie porch" and down a ramp. It works sort of like a Sheltie launching pad! :lol: There wasn't anything much to teach -- they followed our old Bear the Big Red Dog in and out. Shelties catch on pretty quick -- lead them in and out with a treat once, and they have it! :wink2:

P.S. It also works for humans who locked themselves out!
 
Yes I have one and its a lifesaver it goes out to my deck. My dogs learned it pretty darn quick...I just stood on the other side with a cookie and called them and out they came..Mine fly out it at warp speed and I pray my cats arent on the other side because they often get run over!:lol:

Is yours the sliding glass door kind (built into a removeable, upright spacer, between the door and wall), or a permanent wall / door kind? I've always wanted to try the temporary kind, but have shy'd away due to the cost.

I will be getting the sliding glass door panel with the doggy door. There is a really expensive version with a magnetic collar for almost 500. I would love to have that but can't afford it. We have a cat that I would prefer not go out but 500 is just not do affordable.

We have older shelties and put in a doggy door. Only one of them (with arthritis) has a hard time using it since hubby pit it in too high. Every dog uses the door even the dogs who never had a doggy door prior to coming to us. We pushed each puppy out the doggy door a few times to show them how to use it, and now they go out and come in all the time.

Our Telly will only go outside through the doggy door even if you open the door. Out through the doggy door with the door open, and back in through it. He is a little clueless
 
Yes, I have had the panel in the sliding glass door, before. I really liked it and when I moved I was able to take it with me.
 
Yes I have the one that goes in the sliding glass door however I since changed my slider to french doors to my deck which has sidelight windows on each side of our french doors and the panel fit beautifully in the opening on one side and I just caulked it to make it weather proof. Viola insta built in doggy door...lol!! and it blends rather well so it doesnt look to obvious.
