Ears question

Ahhh, the EARS!...LOL...I had to glue Joey's ears...he spent his time figuring how to UN glue them...it was a constant battle! Keep in mind, that whenever they are teething, those ears go CRAZY! tHEY CAN BE TIPPED, AND WHEN TEETHING IS GOING ON, THEY CAN GO COMPLETELY FLAT, OR STAND COMPLETELY UPRIGHT! Be patient, and stick with the gluing. Go to the website recommended and follow it carefully. It DOES work!!! I am SO happy Joey's ears tipped after all the gluing I went through!

Sadie's ears where tipped until she started teething, then they were trading positions constantly! These two photo's were taken a day apart. As you can see it wasn't just the weather that changed drastically!

Those are cute pictures of Sadie with her ears. I really like the picture with her in the leaves. Very cute!

Yup, Jakes 10 weeks, ears were fine yesterday but today one has pricked slightly
Havent heard much about the glue in the UK, alot of people have suggested massage with lanolin and use Kaolin to weigh them. Looked up the speed sew but they dont sell it over here

I forgot to mention, I use a product called Tear Mender. In Canada its found in the camping isle of a hardware store and is used for tent repair. Its manufactured in Chicago, Il.
I think in general what you need to look for is a 'quick sew' product for mending holes in fabrics. I think the ones that are supposed to be permanent are better and you also need to find one that is flexable.

I'm just catching up on this email thread.
I asked my breeder how long should I continue to glue my pups ears down. She glues until about 8 months (and she is a show breeder). So I'm guessing that if your pup is still teething and still under 8 months it's not too late to try to tip the ears. She says that as long as the pup is still teething, the ears will continue to be wonky.
I know I stopped too early with my first Sheltie. His ears ended up asymmetrical. But in reality, not a big deal, because he was not to be show dog.
I think it ultimately comes down to preference and convenience. I personally like tipped ears but if my pup was constantly scratching at it, I would stop. He's not, so i'll continue.
