Ears up or down

That's Lexi...gorgeous!

She does remind me a lot of Brock, maybe a bit taller. I love the picture of her in front of the fireplace... do you have a profile picture? I use the one with both Brock and Kai. :wink2:
 
I'm with what pretty much everyone else said, if you're not showing its a matter of preference.

My parent's never let me tip Milo's ears when he was a pup, but it doesn't make him any less beautiful. I really can't imagine him with tipped ears, his pricked ears are a part of what makes Milo, Milo. :smile2:

Ear tipping can be a bit of a pain and takes patience. I tipped Sadie's ears when she was a pup and had a lot of problems because I couldn't find the right glue (The sheltie forum didn't start till a few months later). For me, it was worth it in the end though, I love Sadie's tipped ears, I think it adds to her expression. Our next pup will have his/her ears tipped as well.

Layla has prick ears. I can't imagine her any other way -- she wouldn't be Layla with "Sheltie ears."

I like the tipped look too... It does add a lot to the expresion. But, if you aren't into showing... it is just what you personally prefer.

Personally I let them go, I have had shelties with both and it only makes a difference to you not the dog. Some intense reshaping efforts look like they would be uncomfortable to the dog but the ones I have seen don't seem to be bothered to much by it. The dogs seem to be happy either way?
 
When I first got Meggie, at 15 weeks, her ears were glued. I attempted to re-do them once, had someone else do them once, and then gave up. I think she's the cutest girl EVER, just the way she is. I can't image her with tipped ears, but she seems to have ears on the smaller side. They don't look all out of proportion to her little face.

I think it's just a matter of preference. All the babies shown in this thread are beautiful, tipped, prick or otherside. :wink2:
