Yes, thank you for posting this! Now I guess I'm going back to obsessing over which food we're switching to!

As a pet store supply owner, I'm agonizing here. I pulled all my product and just started to put some back that was outside the recall.

In all, I've only had 2 returns of food of people who were concerned about the recall.

That tells me that 99.99% of the food is good. But yeah, I worry about the .01%:gaah

Thanks for the link...it was interesting to read the FDA report...especially since they are using implying cross-contamination and we've known about that issue since what last year when Randi posted it with her bag?? And we were thinking just a fluke...apparently its been an ongoing issue..I cant even imagine what the inside of that plant looks like and the condition:ick

I've already switched from TOTW but this will keep me from any Diamond produced brand permanently. If the company allows this level of unsanitary conditions in one plant I have no doubt it spans their others as well. Maybe not to the same degree but I would never believe they allow this facility to have these conditions and keep the others clean. That just doesn't make sense to me. This didnt happen overnight and they bagged food month after month knowing the problems that is not a company i want to support So I won't feed their brands regardless of where they are produced and won't support any brands that continue to do business with them.

I'm with you- we loved TOTW too:(

Diamond dog food

I am a firm believer that the larger and well known dog food companies have done the necessary research and take the required precautions to produce safe and uncontaminated food. I also believe that you get what you pay for....companies like purina, science diet, pedigree, and eukanuba have been around a long time and they have proven their quality...yes, they are more expensive, but peace of mind is worth a whole lot to me.

Quality?!?! Nope, won't use those brands either here!!!

The only problem with what you said is that purina, pedigree, etc. are all crap food for dogs, if you look at the ingredient lists. yes, they have been around forever, and yes, our parents fed our dogs these foods.

And actually the foods being recalled are actually more expensive then the brands you mentioned.

I don't know what the answer is. At first, I was pretty confident in Diamond doing all the right things to fix this problem. But the internet is pretty viral and spreads all kinds of truths and untruths, so that you don't really know what is real anymore.

All I can say is that I think Diamond will be doing its best to resolve any issues they have. How could they not? Otherwise, they will be quickly out of business.

And I do believe that the actually risk of any of these products is at neglible. I had customers return bags that that were on the recall list but had been feeding their cat/dog for weeks on the food.
