I've asked some stupid/controversial questions on this forum before, but it was all along the course of my study and getting to know of the breed and the world of dog fancy. :smile2:

So after months and months of search and research, I finally brought home a sheltie puppy few days ago. :yes::yes:

She is a 4mo. old female sable, from a champion line (So I was told).

All of us (my family and the dog) are still getting to know each other. I am a total newbie so I may not know much, but I can already see that she is a very smart animal.

I will post more stories on the appropriate subforums from now on, since I am no longer "just considering" a sheltie.. but I am a new sheltie owner!! :winkgrin:
 
Congratulations, Jason!!! How very exciting! Tell us more! Name? Pictures? Inquiring (nosy) minds want to know!! :lol:
 
Welcome. Need names and pix. Don't forget - the only stupid question is the one not asked.

Be aware - a Sheltie is like a potato chip - can't have just one.:lol:
 
Congrats!!!! You will LOVE her so much!! Oh and besides all the specs we want to know; don't forget the paw print too!! :biggrin2: :wink2:

Congrats on the new girl hopefully she is in for many years of spoiling and enjoyment.

Since Denise is slow .... we like pictures :biggrin2:

Also the #1 and #2 thing that separates a good dog owner from a bad one is caring. You have already put forth effort that indicates you are probably in the good side. No one is perfect but most do well if they try.
 
Congrats on the new addition to your family!!!!! I'm sure she will bring years of love, joy, and happiness! (And, they ARE like potato chips. I got my 1st one 4 yrs. ago and just recently added my 4th Sheltie!! THEY'RE SO ADDICTING!!) :lol:

this group has gotten me to step out do all kind of things with Prince. my lovely wife can't believe i spend so much time reading all the posts here. you are going to buy things you never thought you would and do it gladly as you ask yourself, "wow, one month ago, would I have ever done this?"...... that is what these most intelligent, beautiful, loving & energetic animals will do to you... BTW I love Indianapolis. a great friend of mine left us here and opened a restaurant there named MudBugs Cajun Cafe. oh well, sorry for the rant. enjoy your new best friend....

Congrats on the new addition. I noticed after you said she comes from a line of champions you put in (so I am told). Most breeders will give you the paperwork of there pedigree lineage and that would have the champions listed as such. Hope this helps. Most importantly enjoy your new Sheltie and the many years of love and laughter you have to look forward to with her. Yes we need pics.
