For those who want to learn agility - would it help...

I noticed on another thread a number of people saying they would like to try agility but don't know where to start.

Now, I am by no means an expert - but I have been doing agility coming up to two years and I can certainly show you the basics of how to start.

I would be happy to film Cadbury doing beginners exercises and share if anyone thinks this would be at all helpful?

I know how to get dogs started and progress, though I can't comment on agility comps at the moment. But I can certainly demonstrate how to start and to build equipment at home to save on costs.

What do you reckon?

Yes, please.

Here is what I need and I don't know if this can be done or not.

I need to know how to teach the movements to MMM, without confusing the daylights out of him.

Like right now and I know this is not an agility movement per se, but I swear all of you teach it. I want to teach MMM how to jump up in my arms while I am standing upright. How do I teach that? That is just the example.

We have gotten the basics down of simple obedience. The other thing I have been teaching him is how to back up in a heal position and we are getting there as well. I know how to do this because it was you Labgirl that was teaching Cadbury it, I believe and talking about the specifics of "how" to teach it. Well we have about got it.

Anyway, yes. I would love to know how to get the movements accomplished, without confusing and frustrating MMM because I am inept and clumsy!

OK, if I try and demonstrate that with Cadbury I will need to be picked up off the floor:lol:

Right, so I'll get the camera out and start with some basics. Just bear with me as at the moment the UK is experiencing a heat wave, but I've got a fortnight off doggy training so that will be the time to do it.

Well done! Its great when they get something new. I'm teaching Cadbury to shake his head as if saying 'no' at the moment.

I found this video a few months ago because I was thinking that I wanted to teach Phebe to jump into my arms. She's not much of a lap dog, so I gave up got noe, but maybe it would work for you and MMM.

Oh that would be too cute. That would be a great trick to teach.

When I was making MMM look up, look down, look left, look right this morning checking out his ookie eye, I was thinking wouldn't that be a great trick to teach them yes and no...............shrugging their shoulders though might be too much to ask of them, eh?
