FOUND SAFE! - Urgent!!! Missing Sheltie, FL

I know this is no consolation Danielle, but I have been in contact with Barb,as good friend of mine that has a rescue in the Palm Bay area.A good friend of Barb's is an animal control officer.

There is a 98% possibility, that someone has this dog,and they are not budging with info.I'ts Barb's experiance, that with a dog as such...people keep pretty mum about finding them.

Shelties are not a real common dog to see roaming, and with the possiblility they "know" there is a good chance she is micro-chipped..they are'nt going to take her to a vet to have her scanned.I'ts sad to think that someone would intentionally keep her from her safe return to her rightful owners.

It would be nice to think, that everyone is an honest Abe,but it's a very good possibility she is in the possession of someone even as we read this post.

Our only hope,is that she is being taken care of,I know a hard pill to swallow, since she is not at home where she belongs.
One can only hope, that some honest person may read or hear about her being missing, and they have possibly seen her in someones yard, and report it.

That is exactly what we are thinking, Michele.

Thanks for making contacts. I really appreciate it....this is exactly what I was hoping for in starting this thread, to just get the word out to as many people as possible.

Sorry but I've only been reading smatterings of this thread. Is the dog microchipped? If she is they will have to take her to the vet for rabies and shots.. Contact all of the vets in your town and give them a picture of her and her tag number.. Even if the chip is not registered to you they can be on the look out for the dog and identify her through her chip number. I know of a case of a Golden Retriever that was lost and was returned three years later because the vet checked for a microchip...She was in another state and had been aparently picked up and transported there...

Hugs
Judy

Yes, she is microchipped. The vets and shelters in the Tampa Bay Area have been notified to scan an new Shelties that come in. Thanks for your help!

Your welcome.Barb said she would be in touch,if she got any news.

Kelly-

With all due respect, I wish I knew what you were talking about. Please PM me with the problem. I wasn't aware that there was some "heat" over finding this Sheltie. I started this thread to get the word out not to create problems for you.

Thanks
Danielle

I'm curious too Danielle!!

No good updates on Ruffles.

They did finally find the lawn service. The guys said that she was hanging around them for awhile that Saturday afternoon and then ran off. What a shame that they didn't grab her. They seemed concern though, so they promised that since they are in that neighborhood 3 times a week, they will keep their eyes out for her.

Here is a video someone made for Ruffles:

 I will say a prayer for her and Angus tonight at 9pm.

This might sound crazy, but what about posting signs saying that she has an illness and needs expensive medicine ASAP or she will get very sick and pass away? This way if someone is keeping her for themselves, they might turn her in. They probably wouldn't want to spend money on vets and medicine.

I think that idea was tossed around. They had her on a radio station last week.

I will definitely pass that idea around to Judy.

Thanks for the prayers.....I will definitely do the same at 9PM. Judy has a facebook page for finding Ruffles:

I will mention Angus on there as well.

Thanks!
Danielle
