Anyone use a grain free, low protein food? Max pancreas levels are high again and they only change is in his food, the protein is higher. Thank you

Take a look at Now! by Petcurean. It's about the only quality food I know that has a low protein range and is grain free. There may be some others I'm not aware of but Now is one of the best IMO.

As Ann said....look at at Now!

I've been feeding it to my dogs for the last 2.5 years or so. I feed the senior's formula which is 24% protein.....much, much less than most grain frees that run at 35% or more. Low protein, grain free is really tough to find.

I've had Bacca on this diet because of his hypothyroidism and possible liver shunt for years. Its the only diet that he has stuck to. He was rejecting everything else. Its like he "knows" this is ok food for him.

Good luck!

I use Solid Gold Sundancer which is grain and gluten free and they consider it moderate protein at 30%.

I know that the Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish formula is around 21% protein - a fellow trainer uses it for that reason, grain free and low protein.

Thanks everyone, but max had a pancreatic inflamation, so now he is on chicken breast and veggies, yogurt and some fruit four times a day. I am so scared I am going to lose him if I don't get it right!

Dont ever give up.

You will get the balance right. It took me two years of trial and error with diet to get my Paden boy and his discoid lupus under control. I knew it was diet related so kept after it.

Dont worry and be strong and you and Max will be fine.
