Grooming table opinions

Hey everyone

I am getting ready to buy a new grooming table. Anyone have suggestions on theirs, if they recommend it or not? I am shorter- 5 ft. and need a sheltie size one of course. lol Oh, and I have strength issues- it needs to be lightweight. :smile2:
I am considering the model with casters that doubles as a dolly- but I believe the height is just a bit shorter, and length a bit longer, than what I considered.

Any thoughts?

not really sure about grooming tables. I use a 3' L x 2' W adjustable plastic table that I got at big lots for $15 it looks like this:

may not be pretty but hey it works plus I can fold it flat and store it out of the way when I don't need it.

Are you getting one for showing or just grooming in your house? If for showing I would suggest this type as it comes with the arm which makes grooming soo much easier! The weight of it is not too bad...its about the weight of my dogs so its not too overly heavy for me to carry. I also put a yoga mat on the top of mine to protect the top and make cleanup soo much easier. I find them cheap usually at biglot type places. If your showing you may want to invest in a dolly I use it when I do big indoor shows I look like a gypsy with all I fit on it:lol: makes it soo much easier I can make it in on one trip with everything on the dolly including 2 crates with dogs inside...its an art form:lol: The outdoor shows I don't bother with the dolly because I groom out of my van usually, much easier!
 
I use the one Lightplum posted as well, and really like it. Of course, I'm a lot taller... but it works out really well. It isn't overly heavy. Often I am stuck going to dog shows without Greg, so I end up having to do set up, and it isn't an overly heavy table. It's also an easy one to set up and take down. It's one with a detachable grooming arm, so you can put it where ever works best for you, unlike the stationary ones.
 
I'm 5' 5" so I understand the height issue.

I picked up a grooming table for my sheltie a little better than a year ago. It's a fixed height but came with the grooming arm and lanyard for about $75.00.

I can't remember the name of the site right now but I can look when I get home since there is a sticker on the table with their web site.

Which dolly would you recommend? I will be buying one in the future if I dont' buy the table on casters.

I'm glad to see that a couple of you ladies are 5' too (well I'm close at 4'11'' and 3/4'' but I round up).

Let us know how the table you get works out since I was too also contemplating getting one for grooming in the house. Rolling around on the floor with Auber and tons of fur everywhere is not helping my lint brush.

I use to just spawl on the floor. Heck, there are days I just picks up the brush and give him a quick once over while sitting on the couch.

Honestly, found it uncomfortable because he'd squirm and because our carpet DESPERATELY needs to be replaced. The padding is completely gone so it's like sitting on the plywood base.
