Gypsy's bloodwork results are in and her Kidney's are declining. The vet said they are at a place where they could crash at anytime, it is hard to know when. He did suggest I may want to consider letting her go but of course that decision is up to me. I am not ready for that. It is too soon for me after losing Chandler and she is still eating small meals, is not vomiting although I do know she feels nauseous at times and continues to drink water. If things change I will reconsider than. Here are her numbers from May and Now.
May-Urea Nitrogen 66 Now 79, May- Creatinine 2.1 Now 2.3,
May-Bun/Creatine 31 Now 34.
I also talked to her Dermatologist after recieving these results so we could decide which course of action to take for her Staph infection. I told him most of the sores have healed except 2 and there is no indication of any new ones forming at this time. He felt trying another oral antibiotic at this time could be the thing to cause her Kidneys to crash so we decided to just continue with the Hexadine baths and the Amikacin which is an antibiotic spray that we treat the affected areas with. He was also concerned about her cholesteral which in May was 489 and is now 691. This could indicate a thyroid issue so although she tested normal for thyroid last year when this was a suspicion of mine we have decided to do another thyroid test. I will schedule that after the holiday weekend.
Please keep Gypsy in your prayers, I want to enjoy my little girl longer than 4years.
