My name is Linda and we brought home our sheltie pup, Scout, 4 weeks ago. He will be 4 months on June 2. He is our first sheltie and I am so glad I found a forum where I can learn more about this amazing breed. His training is going great so far. He can sit, stay, down, and go to his bed on command. He is almost totally potty trained and goes to the door when he needs to potty. We are working on the quiet command, but it is still a work in progress.
Our older dog, Ginger, is a 10 yo ShiPom that has fully accepted Scout, which is a pleasant surprise. They play together several times a day, except when Ginger has had enough and leaves the room. Again, so glad to be here and to learn from seasoned sheltie parents.
 
A big welcome to you from Southern California! Scout sounds like a wonderful example of our breed. And good for you for doing early training, makes life so much easier later on when the teen attitude comes in. I have 3 myself, with puppy Meadow almost 17 months old now. They all play together like crazy.

Welcome Linda and Scout. I bet he is adorable and sounds like a fast learner as most Shelties are. You have wonderful years ahead as he grows and becomes a huge piece of your heart. And big kudos to Ginger for being such a welcoming older "sis"...not all seniors are so accepting when a pup suddenly invades their once peaceful space. :)

My sis in law has a time share in Escape to the Shores, Orange Beach. Think thats pretty close to where you are...I'm in Arizona :)

Thank you for the warm welcome! I gave up Facebook and Instagram a long time ago, since I was gaining nothing from it. Now that I have you awesome sheltie lovers, I will be able to do something positive with my time.
I am going to sign up for a premium membership because I value this community greatly. Photos will be coming shortly.
 
Welcome to you from Manitoba Canada here! Scout sounds like he’s a smart boy, especially for learning to leave Ginger alone when she’s had enough! I wish my 6 month old bi blue girl Blueberry would learn that and leave my other two alone lol!
This really is the best Sheltie site around...and we love pictures!
