"Hey! You're the woman that keeps yelling at us!"

Too funny. Even my Haley recognizes another Sheltie as something special. A new neighbor was moving in kitty corner from our house a few months ago, and low and behold, a lovely small tri colored sheltie was herding sticks on their lawn. They both saw each other from afar, two shelties on opposite corners, eyes locked, tails at attention. Like...."woah, look at that!". They eventually met and now bark at each other!

Sca thinks everyone is his friend except the ones that are mistaken about not being his friend. But he does have a fascination with Sable Shelties the rest are just 'normal' buddies.

Years ago, I was in Kingston, Ontario, with my new partner for a lovely weekend away.

I'd left Timber at home with my ex-husband and my kids.

We're walking along the docks and I hear a bark. There is no mistaking a Sheltie bark. Bark again, and I'm saying to myself: My freakin' ex followed me here and brought the dog to track me!

Then I finally see the dog, and it's owner and it turns out to me one of Timber's cousins. He looked like Timber and sounded like Timber, but they were 200 km apart!

To this day, I stop by any Sheltie that I see because I'm always looking for "kin". Shelties are not so common here, so when I see one I'm almost guaranteed that they are related somehow!

This is a happy and funny thread....making me laugh....I know I am crazy about shelties, glad to know the rest of you are too! ('course, I guess I knew that all ready, but I mean, text-book crazy!)....
