It is our understanding that many of the foods are being recalled because of higher than normal levels of added Vitamin D were found. While we cannot speak for other companies, we can tell you that the majority of our foods are formulated to be simple by design, as this allows pet parents to customize their dog or cat's diet by adding their own supplements.
We do add the needed vitamins and minerals required to meet the AAFCO standard for complete nutrition right out of the package to two our our product lines - our fresh-frozen Bravo! Balance and our freeze-dried Bravo Homestyle Complete. In both cases, we follow the guidelines mandated by AAFCO for those vitamin and mineral levels. We use a nationally-recognized, best-of-class source for those items, so that safe levels are maintained at every step. We also adhere to a stringent set of sourcing and manufacturing guidelines. In addition, we own our manufacturing facility, so we’re hands-on day in and day out which allows us to react quickly in isolating anything that may be a potential issue and also allows us to consistently produce a quality product.
