How can I make my boy fluffier?

You are quite correct....the CC Coat Dressing will leave a build-up over time. For that reason, I don't use it too often.

It does depend how often you bath your dogs. Mine get a full bath about every 3-4 months. In between, I will give them a dry shampoo with CC's Show Off. It does remove any build up.

I think he is a very handsome dog. Sandstorm is also 18 inches, and his fur is rather drapey also, but he is getting more of it now and has big pants again (love those pants). His chest fur is driving me crazy- it is slowly, very slowly, coming in again. This summer he looked like he lost so much fur! Sandstorm is not quite 18 months old, and both his parents look extremely fluffy in their show pictures. I suppose you could get products to fluff him, but that would take alot of time. I am thinking of my own hair, (thin) and how much product I use (if I lit a match it would probably go up in flames, I use a big can of hair spray a week).
If you did that to your dog, you would have to rinse it out almost daily, wouldn't you? Like I said, I think you have a really pretty dog.

Thanks! I say that he's my red-headed step child that didn't get a coat of fur. Here's a pic of him and his brother together and his brother has so much fur it isn't funny! Trax is on the left and Cosi on the right if you couldn't already tell  Trax and Cosi

Well they were out doing agility the other day as the frozen ground started to melt and by the time we were done they were covered in mud, so they got a bath. I normally give them a bath once every 4-6 weeks. Smokey is 13 and he gets so very tangled and stinky so he gets a bath more often as needed.

They are both adorable dogs. Trax looks a bit like Sandstorm, I wish he would get more chest fur, he did have it when he was a puppy, both his parents have ALOT. When I looked at the parents champion photos, I was worried about the grooming, but those are CH pics, fluffed up and hair sprayed probably.

Sigh... I have the same questions with Duncan. Abbie is filling out beautifully (despite our Florida heat) in the coat department. Her tail is so long I've considered thinning it out a bit and every few weeks I take a pair of scissors or thinning shears to her pants! Duncan, on the other hand, is wonderfully shiny but STILL has puppy fur on his legs. But he's only a year and a half, so maybe just a sloooowww maturing line.

Pierre wants to know what all this fuss is about. Undercoats are for stuffy long-noses. Real dogs have bountiful, fluffy curl-tails.

:biggrin2: Trax's fur is coming in a little with the cold weather here, but he'll never have that thick coat. That's ok, I love him anyhow :smile2:

Well he looks awesome! What was your final choice if any for shampoo, conditioner?

I started them on the Vibrant Pets a while ago and that seems to have helped not only with his fur but also with his itchy skin. As for shampoo, because he has skin irritation I've been using Paul Mitchell's Oatmeal Pet shampoo. I have a cosmetology license so I can go into the professional supply store and buy the Paul Mitchell pet products for half the price they charge in the stores. I haven't broken down and bought the grooming products yet. I still plan on trying some products.
