How did your Sheltie get it's name?

Treader got his name from two things.
1. The Chronicles of Narnia book "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader"

2. One of Albert Payson Terhune's Sunny Bank Collies, Gray Dawn.
 
Name

Shadow got his name because when he was a puppy he follwed me evey where hence the name Shadow .He is nicknamed on the agility circuit as "The Shadowman" or The Speedemon"
 
I had named my sheltie Chasity. There really wasn't a real reason for the name. I just loved the name and well after a while it kinda just fit her. She walked and she walked like she was wearing a diaper. She swayed her but soooooooooooooooo much. Like her but was too big for her. So I guess you could say it was like her chastity belt was in the way haha.
 
skylers (blue sky's the limit) name is because he is a bi-blue. pepper because she is black and white. Belle (belle of the ball)... my 4 year old daughter named her, my sons wanted to call her Boo, but Autumn rules over her older brothers :yes:
 
I really would have loved to name Sadie Sassy instead, she is such a sassy little thing! But that was her mother's name so I wanted to pick something else. We settled on Sadie because we thought it was another really cute name that also suited her.

The breeder that Sadie came from calls her 'kennel' Edoras because they also own horses. For those of you who are not Lord of the Rings fans, Edoras is the capital city of Rohan, the land of the horse lords in LOTR. Since Sadie needed a registered name I looked up the name Sadie in elvish, and found out the elvish translation is Aranel (pronounced Are-ah-nell)

So Sadie's registered name is Edoras' Aranel :rolleyes2:
 
Kiara, Latin for clear. She is what we consider the original sheltie thus clear of added color. Our Sheltie Angel Jewel, was so called due to her blue eyes which resemble jewels. Altyough on her photos they appear black they are Blue.:winkgrin:
 
Fred's full name is Fredierk Hobarten Ralphington Feurst
The first two is for Fred Mertez off of I Love Lucy (Hobart was his middle name) and Ralphington because he threw up on me twice on the way home from the breeders and Feurst because he's my first dog :x
I changed the words to make it as long and ridiculous as possible lol.
