How did your Sheltie get it's name?

Harry Pottah because he's black (tri-color) and had a small white blaze when he was a puppy.

Molly Moose because I wanted a blue female named Molly, so when she came out of her mama, she was Molly. Moose because she's fat... :D

Luke because that name just fits him.

I've settled on "Snap,Crackle, and Pop" for him, called Snap--- a better reflection of his personality and a nod to his grandfather, Pop Star of Northern Farm.

We're related! Layla and Bits' great grandfather is Pop Star!!! We got them both from Alexandra at Norwood!

My parent's sheltie is named Lisa because it sounds like the Russian word meaning fox. We thought she looked like a fox when she was a baby.
As for Sophie, we thought it was a pretty name and liked it for her. It actually too us a good week to give her a name. Gotta think of a perfect name for our furbabies.

My son named Shelly. He wanted a sable sheltie and had been looking for over a year for his birthday. We weren't sure if wanted a male or female so he picked two names. If we found boy it was going to be Bay State Buddy "Buddy" for short and a girl was to be Seaside Shelly "Shelly" for short. You see we live in Mass and we are called the bay state and we go to the beach at the Cape alot. Now for over a year these were the names. When we saw pic's of the litter at 1 day old and new we were getting a female (didn't have a choice of a male anymore the litter only had 3 sable females and 4 bi-blacks) We were 3rd on a list to pick out one of the pups. The Breeder was great she took many pic's of all the pups as they were growing week by week. When we saw pic's of the three females my son picked out the one he wanted. We told him he might be getting one of the others because we were 3rd in line to pick. After weeks of waiting for the other people to pick we finally found out on a Sunday that the puppy we were getting was the one he had picked out right from the start. A few weeks later on a Sunday we brought her home. On the way home my son informed us he changed her name. It was now Sun-Shine Shelly. We asked why and he said it was the best day in his life. It was Sunday and the sun was shining so bright so it was just meant to be Sun-Shine Shelly. :smile2: Someday if we do ever get another sheltie maybe a Blue Merle I think I want to name him or her Happy because that's how Sheltie's make us feel!:smile2:

Izzie is named after the character on Grey's Anatomy. Her latest nickname is Busy Izzie since she is always on the go.

When i got Daisy, me and my boyfriend couldnt figure out what to name her. He wanted to name her sassy, because growing up his parents always had huskys..and whenever they got a new dog...if it was a female her name was sassy, if it was a male it was lucky...why..i dunno. but hes had a quite a few dogs with both those names. I told him no that the dog needed her own name, and he suggested we name the dog daisy, because i use to have a female sheltie named daisy, and he thought my parents reaction would be kind of funny. i said no, but eventually caved in when we couldnt agree on a name and i was tired of her being nameless. Now, i cant imagine her with any other name, but it can be confusing when talking about my dog i used to have, and not to confuse with the dog i have now.
