How Often Do You Bathe Your Sheltie?

Picture of Hunter Priceless

Hunters Mom That picture of Hunter in the tub for his bath is a deffinate kodak moment.:lol:It tells it all, just as you said

But tell me, is there anything more pathetic than a wet sheltie? The look they give you almost says "I love you, why do you torture me so? "
I give my furkids a bathe every 6-8 weeks or as needed between. They get brushed daily to every-other with a bath freshener between especially on those lovely rainy days.:eek2:

Yes, that's a great shot. I took one of Callie the last time that she got a bath- didn't even get her head wet yet but she would not look up at the camera. you could tell that she was not pleased :wink2:

Monthly

Generally, Auber gets a bath about every 4 weeks unless it's absolutely necessary she get one earlier (which has only happened once and it was at 3 weeks between baths then). She will get a wipe down with a wipe when her paws are particularly muddy or she's got dog slobber from another at the dog park on her back. :smile2:

Dogs are supposed to smell like dogs, although I do enjoy the smell of her shampoo when she is clean.

I have to share my bath picture...

That's when they were puppies, lol. I bathe them about once a month I guess, I don't really keep track, just when they're dirty. It never ends up being more that every three weeks at most. Sometimes I just fill up the tub with a couple of inches of water and get their feet in, and sometimes I have to wash just their pants if they've had a digestive issue....:eek2: Mine never stink though, I never have to bathe them because of that, it's just that we have red clay here that will stain their fur if they get very dirty, and even though they hate water, they love a good mud hole....

Gavin got a bath!!!!

He feels so snuggly now! He really does feel like hair, and not fur.

Last weekend we went hiking in the San Luis Obispo area and he was covered in burs and nettles (not to mention the poison oak exposure) so he got a bath and blow dry. He's all fuzzy and furry, but oh so soft. I liked the way he looked better before the bath (I think the oils in his skin help keep the fuzz under control) but he feels much better now :D
