How to keep a sheltie off the furniture?

Mom didn't like the dogs on the furniture, that is until Noah. She would pick him up herself and put him on the couch.

My dogs can lay wherever they want as long as I don't want the same place. I have better things to worry about. That being said not one routinely sleeps on the living room furniture except Diva and even that is uncommon. Same goes for the bed. Only Diva slepts the whole night with me.
 
Blithe doesn't like to be up on anything! He will not stay on a bed if I lift him up onto one and will jump off. But. . . if I put him on my bed, which is the same height at the others, he will pace around the sides and look at the floor but will not jump off. I'm sure if I put him up there and didn't take him off, he'd still be there three weeks later!

If I want him on my lap while I'm sitting in my recliner, I will have to haul him up, he'll sit on my lap for a few minutes, then walk down onto the leg lift and sit and generally act nervous, and stare down at the floor. . . all of 12 or 15 inches below him. He may jump off or I may have to give him a gentle nudge.

I guess I should count my blessings that he doesn't want to constantly be on the furniture.

Oh, and did I mention that Annie Laurie told the animal communicator that the sofa is hers? Yep -- she owns it. :uhoh:
 
New couch to be delivered while I am at work tomorrow (it came early). I am sure Sca will love it but it might be amusing when I use the power leg lift. I imagine Spitfire will not be happy with the noise. He is very much a things can't change dog. I cleaned under the grill yesterday and moved it back in to the wall. Well he can't get behind it and was seriously bummed out this morning :rolleyes2:

Now the only question is whether it has a drawer for throws in the center like my current one :winkgrin:
 
We let Dickens jump up on the bed a few weeks ago, just for grins. Now every morning I'm assaulted out of my sleep by a wild 43-pound Sheltie.
 
My couch is gone! I am NOT happy about this :mad: I can't lay in my spot. I was told I would have a new couch but there is nothing there! My sheep says MY couch is up with the ghosts in Lynchburg :rolleyes2:

poor Sca- it's hard to swap one couch for another without someone noticing:winkgrin:
