How to keep a sheltie off the furniture?

Michele I need to go back and read her journal and I can tell you how old she was jumping on the sofa and the bed. I kept one for both girls. I do recall it took Katie a while to get on the bed.

Thank you for taking the time to look in the journal. He can almost get there, just not enough upph in his jump.
I'm sure that Earnhardt was a couch potato when he was about 3 or 4 months old, although he never got on the bed. And still to this day he shows no interest. Once in a great while, but it is hard for him to get up there.and he never stays. He was crate trained right up until a year old.

Trapp looks forward to the couple of hours he may be on the bed with me,especially if Brian is working,I will go read for a bit,and he falls right to sleep.I do wake him to go potty around 10,and then he is in his crate for the night.

Its just a matter of time I'm sure. Bedtime is cuddle time with Bumper. She really loves it when we are in bed.And is ritual with her to cuddle right in the crook of my neck for 10 minutes or so. Then fall fast asleep right beside me.

Sca is 16 weeks but he LOVES to jump. He will jump and just crash into things. He does miss the chair at times but once he accidentally leapt in he was hooked  Oh and I think he is 13-14 inches now (doesn't like the tape measure so it is hard to tell)

LOTS OF LAUGHS!

Oh sure stay off the couch and the recliners. I'm in the kitchen, and I look on and the recliner is rocking. Maybe its a Ghost or the Phantom, yep Lucky is just rocking his heart out in the recliner rocker.

Lady she also places the pillows on the couch for her comfy zone. Lucky likes to sleep on the first floor. Lady waits til I am ready for bed and runs right up and makes her place.

Yep mine are really disciplined when it comes to relaxing on the furniture. Lady has the stare, but she doesn't have to use it to relax, its good-night all, and shuts her eyes.

Oh gosh I am certainly no help.

Me neither! We let the girls on everything except the tables. Beckon has to be lifted on and off the beds, but where we are, they are, too. Annie even sat in a chair at the tAble at the winery we were visiting -- she wanted to be included in the party!!

How to get your dog off the furniture:
Lie on the floor and cover yourself with cheese, chicken, hot dogs, squeaky toys, and popcorn.

That should work for about 20-30 minutes. Then they will burp and get back up on the couch.

why oh why did I just get a visual!?

It's not a big deal for me, since Toffee is allowed on my furniture etc, but he does know OFF... aka when we go to Scotty's house,he swings himself up to the coach smiling, lol, and I say "off" he's like WHAT?!? :eek2: you mean get down off this perfectly nice cuddle coach, you sure? and when I say yes, I am sure, get OFF.. he's huffs and gets down lol
I don't think they really need reasons on why they should comply with our wishes, although I daresay SUBU would disagree

Figured it out.

Temorarily at least :biggrin2: He came by and was getting ready to take a hard left up out of his new habit and :confused2: What is that in my chair :confused2: I figure after a few days his habit will be broke then we can start fresh on his stay down.
Signed
