OMG I almost killed Diva!:(

Tonight, I'm sitting here watching TV in my lazy boy recliner and I go to get up and put the foot rest down. It goes down fine but the last bit was sticky. I thought the blanket had gotten stuck so I pulled it out and kicked it shut.
Suddenly the whole chair starts rocking and wobbling. WTH? I quickly lift up the chair and out pops Diva with this bewildered looked on her face.:eek2: You know the one were your sleeping and wake up and can't figure out where you are. She is shaking her head back and forth. Quick look over and she appears to be alright just shaken. She must have been laying just right and she didn't even yelp.

I am so grateful she wasn't hurt. I have seen injuries where pets have been slammed in the rocker-head trauma, cuts, injuries tails etc. I have always worried about it since they always lay under the rocker but they always move when they sense I'm getting up. I guess I caught her by surprise. She is currently in my lap with her head against my chest, grunting and telling me what an idiot I am.

Been there...done that but it happened with Bumper. She crawled up in one of our recliners, did not even know she was there. And she must have been just right, cause when I put it down, she never made a sound.

We got to looking for her,and lo & behold...Brian decided to check the chair.

Ours have gotten clipped by the recliner a few times. I am so glad Diva is okay, she must of really been underneath it. Bet she won't do that again. Hugs to you both. Imagaine you do see alot of odd household injury's.

Ouch! Don't own a recliner thankfully, but granddad does. I'll have to tell him about not squishing Merlin!

Yikes. :eek2: I have a friend who killed a puppy in a recliner. So my rule has always been no dogs that small. Of course I have a Norwich right now, but no recliner, so it's all good.

How dreadful! No recliners for me -- I have a hard enough time watching them under my feet when I'm sitting on the sofa. I'm so glad Diva is ok!

 poor Diva that is so unladylike. From what you have said though it is lucky it was not Ember or you might have to lock the bedroom door at night.

I am safe since Sca wants to crawl under and chew the couch so I don't get to use footrests :o (well and I doubt he would fit in anything)

We've all done things like that; try not to beat yourself up. The important thing is that Diva is OK, thank heaven. And of all the dogs to do it to....you know she will give you the guilts for weeks to come! I predict lots of pats and extra cuddles will be demanded.

We don't have a recliner although I've always wanted one. I may rethink that -- the dogs are always under our feet and I never thought of that possibility.

I'm glad that Diva is okay. I think she will forgive you pretty quickly.

My parents have a recliner and we always have to be careful because their cat loves to get under it.
