I know, I know...shut up with the ears already!

I'm no expert, but to me they look great. I love the photos of him on the bed!! He looks like he's on cloud nine!
 
They don't look bad right now. How old is he? You may want to glue them down tighter depending on his age as the ears tend to go up a little when they get older. In other words, if he is pretty young now, and you leave them this way, they may go to almost prick when he's an adult. Also, sometimes if you add weight, they can build up their muscles trying to use them and they will actually flip up or back when you take the weight off.

I usually use the Tear Mender glue and keep them glued completely in half (as long as they don't have big thin ears) for about a year to a year and a half. I have one guy that just turned a year old on Christmas and I glued his ears back down tight because they didn't have enough of a tip for me. I don't like to have to use tungsten in their ears when I show them.

If you are trying to save hair and don't want to glue hair to hair, you can put another small piece of moleskin on the other side of the ear and glue moleskin to moleskin.

Sure is a cutie though!!!
 
Crestlynn...that's EXACTLY what I'm doing lol!! Moleskin, Tear Mender, and because he DOES have huge Dopey ears, I glue them right in half, and tight as well...it's the only thing that seems to be working right for me. I use Speed Sew too, His ears get oily very fast and I find it holds in down better on the ear itself. He'll be 6 months old on the 18th. and I do plan on gluing them back...it's just the one came undone, so of course I had to undo the other one, and figured I would picture it on it's process, and get some input! As soon as I get my hands on some Goo-Gone(which, evidently you can get at "Any" hardware store - so I've heard), they're going right back down. He has extremely stubborn ears, and I have this annoying, nasty hunch I'll have to glue them for just as long. :lol: Oh well, it's worth the effort! I gotta say - I never thought I'd get the whole gluing thing down, and I'm mighty proud of myself for perfecting it(well, as mush as i can) Caliber Thanks you for the compliment!! He's now boasting :wink2: :lol:

Ania - Oh yes, cloud nine would be the correct terminology! He loves our duvet...snuggles right in there. Of course, 9 times outta 10 he still chooses my feet before the bed...and my bed is only a foot away from my computer lol Which is the case right now...screw the bed and Daddy, I have Mommy's feet to rest my head on!

They look pretty good now, but keep a close eye on them! He's very young so there's a really good chance that they will pop up. I left Sadie's unglued for approx. 5 days at that age, before they began popping up. I kept her ears glued till she was approx. 8 months old, when she'd finished teething.

I know you said you're running out of fur to glue to. If its possible, you may want to try gluing the very tip of his ear to the fur on his head that is at the very base of the ear. Folding the ear slightly further than were you want to tip the ear should give you the tip you want. I glued Sadie's ears so that the tip of her ear was nearly touching her head and got a perfect tip as a result.

Here is a great link that I got from another forum about the ears. It has great illustrations! I have not tried the mole skin, but it looks easy enough. Right now I use the Speed Sew only, and it does get frustrating as they do come undone when the two of mine play and then their hair is all a mess with glue!:no:

Goo Gone works o.k. but takes alot of work. (You can find it at Home Depot in Canada). I finally caved and bought Detachol online. It's meant for human skin (to remove bandages) and therefore is less irritating. And Bacca did not mind the smell.

And yes, keep gluing for a little while longer, if you can. I had the issue with Bacca that I had to cut out the old glue then had to wait for some more hair to grow back before I could reglue (that's when I bought the Detachol so I wouldn't be caught again

Thats a great site, it must be new, I've been on their site before and it didn't have that great step by step guide. The photos are great too

Sadie couldn't stand the smell of Goo Gone either. I hate the smell of oranges so I guess I can't blame her.

Btw, you can get bandage remover from almost any drug store, you didn't have to order it online! I picked mine up at Shoppers Drug Mart.

I was surprised that Sadie didn't mind the smell, I thought it smelled good, strong though, but she didn't mind it at all

Crap! I went to Shopper's and couldn't find anything. I should have asked the pharmacist! Oh well, the Detachol worked great and was only about $15, all in!
