Let me set the scenario:

I was walking the dogs in the "back 40" this evening.

Let me define the "back 40". It is a large strip of land that is owned by the City. In the middle of this land, folk lease out plots to grow vegetables and flowers.

Criss-crossing these plots that people use to walk their dogs; on leash or off leash, depending on their training.

I normally walk my dogs off leash but always have their leashes handy in case they decide to misbehave.

Pups were trotting along nicely along the garden plots. One lady was watering her plot with a hose and saw the dogs come up beside her.

She instantly started to spray the dogs with the hose even though they were making no attempt to walk onto her lot. I told her to stop but she kept at it...."No dogs allowed, no dogs allowed". I just got them out of there as quickly as possible.

I'm tempted to go back and talk to her. My dogs were doing no harm. As far as I know there is no by-law that prevents me walking them there.

Should I confront her?

No
I wouldn't
You're just going to drive yourself crazy with these unreasonable people.. I would have lost my mind, I am impressed you didn't holler at her right then and there! But I guess you got the dogs out of there and after their safety first, good for you!
I had people tell me to keep that damn dog away from them when he was on a leash, he was a puppy for god sake and totally on my side, not even remotely close!
However, some people are so petrified and just have no clue:mad:

I would let that one go... if you can

Maybe karma will prevail and the bugs and snails will eat her garden!

OMG I am laughing so hard, that is funny. Ditto on that one, with you 100%.

No Barb leave it alone. Next time she might have garden spray with chemicals to shoot at you and the furkids. People are crazy. Indy and Bacca
could fertilize the garden for her when she isn't around.

I would let it be Barb. Maybe next time....just et Indy & Bacca "fertilize" when she is not around next time.:wink2:

If the lady did not want the dogs there, maybe she should think about fencing. The boys were just being friendly, but as we all know some people don't know how to handle themselves, and think all dogs are vicious.

If they don't want dogs in the garden area they should post a sign so that rude people would not have to attack you with a hose. Would not of worked with Maggie she would of played in it. LOL She sounds like an old biddy Barb!

What a weird response! Sounds lie she either is afraid of dogs or just hates them. I would avoid her like the plague.

I have to agree, Barb, let it go and try to keep the boys away from this lady. That's better than risking them being sprayed with something other than a water hose in the future.
