If I interpret her response correctly
Breeder said she will take Eevee back. That's all. My husband didn't ask about getting another puppy or covering vet bills and the breeder didn't mention them either. Contract doesn't specify what the health guarantee was/is. It says to get the vet to check puppy and send report back to her within 3 days. Also if we can't keep the puppy, we have to give the puppy back to the breeder. She was sad to hear about Eevee because she was keeping Eevee to show, but decided to sell her to us because she was getting too tall.
I've calmed down a bit now. I've been bawling my eyes out and now I have a headache. We will see a specialist and see what our options are. We don't even know if the shunt is operable or not yet.
Meanwhile, we are going to enjoy every moment we spend with Eevee, taking one day at a time. We took her for a ride in my husband's old convertible today and she loved the wind! Going to take her to dairy queen tomorrow. Apparently they give ice cream with doggie treats if you bring a dog with you.

I am glad you are going to take Eevee to a specialist.
Did your vet 100% confirm it is a liver shunt or did the latest test just imply that it is a good possibility? If it's the later, I would make sure it is definitely a liver shunt and then proceed from there.

Checking in to hear the status of Evee. So sorry.......my heart goes out to you. I understand how you must feel and I'm glad to read you have decided to keep her. They're like family and not something to be discarded due to health issues...
