I'm a little scared.....

Recently a pecticide band was put into place in Ontario. I'm all for banning things that are bad for the environment, I think its a good idea, but right now its makes things more difficult too. You can no longer buy insecticide or weed killer like Round Up and I'm not even sure there is a product you can have your lawn sprayed with that will kill fleas/ticks anymore. From what I've heard a number of the lawn care companies are scrambling, looking for all natural products to replace all of the chemical products they can no longer sell.

Hopefully the scrambling will just be temporary and there will be better, natural alternatives soon.

Just another thought: We're no longer allowed to spray our plants with insecticide but we're still allowed to put it on our pets and ourselves!
 
I'm thinking of you today, Barb, hoping all goes well for Bacca and you at the vet's. Sending you lots of good wishes and prayers.....
 
Well, no news is good news, I suppose.

The vet agreed that his jowl still looks a little saggy, but he's eating o.k. and has put back a full kilo since he got sick the first time.

Without sedation, the vet really can't do any more exploration. Bacca was not impressed with having his mouth examined. He never has liked to have his face touched though, so we're not sure if he was objecting because of that or because of pain.

However, if there was an abscess or something stuck in his gum causing infection, once after being off the antibiotics for a few days, it will likely reoccur. So I'm to watch him closely, check him daily and at first sign of anything, book an appointment ASAP. They will sedate him then. I don't like that his jowl is still sagging, so I'm expecting something to crop up again.

He is less fixated on the possibility of cancer than the emergency vet, though he does not rule it out. He just thinks that since pup is putting on weight again, its far less likely.

So still in holding pattern.....:sadsmile:
 
Well that is good news. We will still keep praying for him. but it is so good to hear that he is eating and putting weight on. Way to go Bacca!
 
yes, i just read all of this thread ,, sounds like a bad scare,,, Im glad it turned out to be ok... yaaa For Bacca !!!
 
I know well how awful the waiting and wondering is, Barb. And watching them like a hawk for the slightest little abnormality. I hope that Bacca's jaw issue is just the residual of an absess that will right itself with time. It's great that he's eating again and gaining weight. I do know that lymphoma cases are characterized by weight loss and not gain, so Bacca's going in the right direction and that's a really good sign. We are all holding our breath with you and will keep the prayers and good thoughts coming your way. Hang in there. Sending virtual hugs!!
