I'm back after a long time away. (kinda long)

I kind of went MIA and have missed the board so I'm back to stay. As some may recall we got Chase a year ago as pup and I was on here every day. Well Back in November I started having back pain and things went down hill fast in my life from there. From the back pain it was discovered I have 2 severe compression factures of vertebra. From there it really got bad. I have had no falls or injuries to cause these so off went the hunt to find out what was going on. Well long story short so I have had 7 sessions of Chemo therapy and 10 radiation treatments and will be on Chemo for months to come. I can no longer walk very well but the wife and Daughter give him his long walks he loves so much. I have been out of work for 5 months now and it looks like I may never get back. Chase has been a life saver thru all this. He stays with all day and I swear he understands the pain I am in all day. We just hang out during the day and he gets LOTS of belly rubbing. They still are not sure what cancer I have but it has spread like crazy. I have it in my spine, liver and several other bone groups. Small spec on one lung and some other soft tissue. I have had 3 biopsies from lung to bone not sure what's left but right now it's one day at a time. Sorry about the long rambling post just needed to get it off my chest for now. I don't know what I would do all day with out Chase around. I missed reading here but had been to depressed to even read. Well I'm back and promise to check in and keep reading! Dave

Welcome back Dave

I am so sorry to hear of what you are going through. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family. Chase has been a real comfort to you. Hug him close.
 
Dave, please know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers. I'm sorry about your illness, but very glad that you have Chase. Our dogs are so intuitive and always seem to know what we need. I'm glad you're back. There's lots of reading here for you to catch up on! You can even rub Chase's belly while you surf back Forum posts.

Keep the faith.
 
Dave, I am so happy to hear your voice again! Please know my prayers are with you. Chase is the best guy to be your stalwart companion!!! :biggrin2:

Welcome back Dave, I am so sorry to hear all you are going through. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Shelties are an amazing comfort to us when we are not well. Glad you have Chase by your side.
 
Wow....your family has definitely been going through a lot.

I am so sorry to hear how hard it has been for you, but I am glad that you are feeling better enough to read and write again.

What a great boy, Chase is. It sounds like he couldn't have come into your life at a better time.

Dave,its hard to know the right words,but be asured all of our prayers are for you and that we are here for what ever you need. Even if just to vent. I swear our pups know when something isn't right and i'm sure Chase will be your best friend, always. How is chase doing, i think we had been exchanging about his odor or scratching, can't quite remember!
