For years, I had heard of the Rainbow Bridge, yet I did not understand what it was.
We all have had conversations about where our four legged family members would go when they moved on. I never really felt there was a proper answer, until I was made aware of the Rainbow Bridge concept. Its description is beautiful and appropriate for those that serve us so completely and, so devotedly.
As with our other human family members, most of us are comfortable with their afterlife destination, since the description is everything grand, as we know it. Peaceful, comforting, no more pain, just Heavenly, right? Well, I was not satisfied with where I thought our four legged family members would end up when their time with us was over.
As with others, we are never really ready for that inevitable, no matter how much warning we get. It will always be a shock, a profound loss for now, and a long time afterward..
I feel that the best preparation that we can do is to make the best of our time with them. Understand how much they give to us, every day, so unselfishly. Honor them by being as patient with them as they are with us.
They do not purposely bring drama into your life as some of your other family members do. Treat them as gently as you would to the other loving family members, because they deserve no less.
Their needs are simple, basic, and easy. Allow them your time, attention, and most of all your love.
