I know I have told this story many times, so forgive me for telling it again. This is for the benefit of the newer people on the forum.
In March 2008 my daughter committed suicide. And then just one month later my Timber, died suddenly with a tumour in his chest. I thought my life would end at this point too. It was just too much. Then my sister send me a note that said that Michelle and Timber were together on the bridge and keeping each other company until the rest of joined them.
It was an an eye opener. I could finally rest easy.
And then I lost Bacca in 2014. Again, just another whack at me. Haven't I had enough yet? And then my partner of 14 years walked away too. Just another whack.. But I take refuge from than Michelle, Timber and Bacca are together. And Someday Callan, Indy and I. And for now I have Indy the hound, and Callan the puppy.....and the two of them keep me grounded. Oh, did I mention that I lost two jobs during this period, and finally opened my own pet store?
I've learned to stand and live on my own and not let the demons get to me. Yeah, I have sad, sad moments, but mostly I've learned how to pick myself up and move along.
Losing a loved one is the worst ever, but we have to live our lives too. And you need to figure out how to move on.
Ok, I said a whole lot more than I meant to say. I guess, I just don't let myself live in pity city!
