Indy has gone to the Rainbow Bridge

This morning at 9 am Alan, Russell, and I held Indy as the vet assisted him to sleep. Indy would have been 16 years old if he had lived to 6/12/11; but he was having progressive health issues despite the medications for arthritis, thyroid, and congestive heart failure.

We will miss him every day.
He was my first purebred sheltie, and a true gentleman.
 
Oh, Janet! I'm so sorry! I know he's been sliding for some time, but it really doesn't make it any easier when you have to make the final decision to let him go.

My heart is going out to you.
 
Janet, my thoughts are with you and your family. Indy passed knowing he was loved thoroughly and cared for with kindness every day of his life. He was a blessed doggie and you were a blessed family to have him.
 
Janet, I am so sorry. He sure led a galant life and gave you much love and brought you to this glorious breed that we love so dearly. RIP Indy, bring sweet memories.
 
Janet, I know how hard it can be to do what you know is the kindest thing. Indy understands and is looking forward to greeting you at the Rainbow Bridge.
 
I have been thinking of you and yours all day today. Indy is smiling down at you--running and smiling to his heart's content.
 
Janey, I am so sorry to hear of Indy's passing. I know he was a grand old gentleman, and holds a very special place in your heart as your "very first" in the world of Shelties.

Fifteen is a magnificent long age. You and your family gave Indy a wonderful, happy life, full of love and kindness, and I don't doubt for a second that he knew he was adored.

I'll be thinking of you and your family. I know this has to be a very tough time.

The Southern Gentleman Has Arrived

Dear St. Francis,

As you know, today a fine Southern gentleman arrived at Rainbow Bridge. Indy, a great and gallant Sheltie patriarch, has come to run in the green fields. Welcome him and help him feel at home -- he so deserves a graceful eternity. Help his family remember that Heaven knows no time. T Indy, it will seem but the twinkling of an eye before he is reunited with those he so loved in life.

I am so sorry. I know how it feels, but knowing you were all there for him brings comfort. We as a family were there for our old shepherd, and she was happy about that, I'm sure Indy was too.
