Is this a normal Sheltie nose?

So, I was reading up on the standards, and it said that they must have a black nose. Where as my puppy's nose is pink with some black.. Both her parents have black noses, so will it darken as she gets older? And we did get her from a very good breeder.. We are traveling all the way from Montana to Illinois.. Please help!?
 
puppies are born with pink noses. As they age, it darkens into black. Usually the only ones with pink left in them are bi blues, double merle, and blue merles. Unless you're planning on showing in conformation with this dog, the nose color doesn't matter. Pink does eventually change over time in the ones that do have it, like Spruce (Toffee'smom). Or it could stay the same, like my parents' blue. It just means they have pigment issues. Once again, as long as your not doing conformation it won't hold you back in any activity you want to do with the puppy. Standards were made for a reason, but the only venue that enforces the standard look is conformation.
 
What color is the puppy supposed to be? Sable? He/She almost looks like a maltese blue, or a black dog with the dilution gene. But it's hard to tell in that picture. I would wait to see if the nose darkens as they get older. I was expecting a picture of a bright pink nose, and if it was a blue dog I would say it will fill in.


Just wanted to say, I am probably wrong about the maltese blue thing, so don't get worried about that lol.

Puppies are born with a pink nose, usually as they age the pigment fills in to black. However some times with sable they develop "snow nose". I have one with it and so does Randi's Bailey where in the winter the pigment lightens to a light color.

Now with that said no sure how good the breeder is that they are advertising on puppyfind...
 
I actually found her on the internet.. She sent me
A picture of her mom.. I found her on Cornerstone Shelties.. I never really noticed that.. I guess that is a bit odd.. But her mom is a sweetheart and she has wonderful shelties so I trust her.:smile2:
